LAFAYETTE PARKING COMMISSION
April 15, 2013

ATTENDANCE - COMMISSIONERS: Angela Vinson; John Christodoulakis; Jim Terry; Cindy Murray; and Ken
McCammon STAFF: Dennis Carson, Director of Development; Max Smith, Lafayette Police Department; Dan Walker,

President Angela Vinson opened the meeting of the Lafayette Parking Commission.
Approve minutes of the January 28, 2013 meeting
Ken McCammon moved to approve the minutes for the January 28, 2013 meeting. Cindy Murray seconded. The motion
passed.
Request for change in parking at 14011 Cincinnati Street
No petitioner was present to make this request to the Lafayette Parking Commission. Jim Terry moved to table the
request. Cindy Murray seconded. The motion passed. The issue will be reviewed when the petitioner is present.
Request for change in parking on Kensington Drive
The petitioner was not present for this request. However, William Grupe, a resident of the neighborhood, explained the
history of the parking changes, the current situation, and made suggestions for improved conditions at the Glen Acres
Elementary School. After discussion, Ken McCammon moved to table the request in order to have further conversations
with the school and the Glen Acres Neighborhood Association. John Christodoulakis seconded. The motion passed.
The Commissioners suggested that Mr. Grupe submit a new request to remove the no parking zone in front of his house.
Request for change in parking at 632 Main Street
No petitioner was present to make this request to the Lafayette Parking Commission. Jim Terry moved to table the
request. John Christodoulakis seconded. The motion passed.
Annual Review of Special Parking Zones in Downtown and Residential Handicapped Zones
Dan Walker reported that he had not received any formal requests for removal of any of the special parking spaces
downtown. Only one recipient of a handicapped space responded to have their handicap space removed. The businesses
that did not respond to the initial inquiry will be re-contacted by mail or personal visit. That report and recommended
actions will be presented at the July 15, 2013 meeting of the Lafayette Parking Commission. John Christodoulakis moved
to accept the annual review until its completion. Jim Terry seconded. The motion passed.
Director’s Report
Dennis Carson reported that as a result of the discussions from this meeting that he would be pursuing contact with the
Glen Acres Elementary School and with the Glen Acres Neighborhood Association. Ken McCammon moved to accept
the report. Jim Terry seconded. The motion passed.
Public Comment and Adjournment
Angela Vinson asked for any comment from the public. Hearing none, Jim Terry moved to adjourn. Cindy Murray
seconded. The meeting adjourned.
