REGULAR MEETING OF THE LAFAYETTE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD 4:00 pm 29 June 2022 The City of Lafayette Parks and Recreation Board met in regular meeting at 4:00pm, June 29, 2022. The meeting was held at Rush Pavilion in Columbian Park. The meeting was called to order by Park Board President, Pat Corey. Board members present were Matt Metzger and Dave Mecklenburg. Parks Superintendent Claudine Laufman, Director of Operations Jon Miner, Security Director Kurt Wolf, Marketing Manager Samantha Haville, and Recording Secretary Jenny Spencer were also present. Upon motion by Mr. Mecklenburg, seconded by Mr. Metzger, and unanimously carried, minutes of the June 13, 2022 Parks Board meeting were approved. Upon motion of Mr. Metzger seconded by Mr. Mecklenburg, and unanimously carried, General Fund Claims in the amount of $28,024.44, Non-Reverting Fund Claims in the amount of $45,347.85 for a total of $73,372.26 were approved. Superintendent’s Report • Superintendent Laufman opened the floor to questions. Mr. Mecklenburg inquired about the condition of the tennis courts at Armstrong Park. A discussion followed regarding a short-term fix and long-term solutions. Mr. Metzger asked for an update on the pools. Director of Operations Miner shared that lifeguard staff numbers eighty-four. Tropicanoe Cove has averaged over 1,100 guests over the last sixteen days. The outer pools have been busy as well. .
