REGULAR MEETING OF THE LAFAYETTE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD 4:00 pm 22 August 2022 The City of Lafayette Parks and Recreation Board met in regular meeting at 4:00pm, August 22, 2022. The meeting was held at Rush Pavilion in Columbian Park. The meeting was called to order by Park Board Vice President Matt Metzger. Board members present were Maurie Denney and Dave Mecklenburg. Parks Superintendent Claudine Laufman, Director of Operations Jon Miner, Maintenance Manager Mike Perry, McAllister Recreation Center Manager Chad Aldridge, Marketing Manager Samantha Haville, Marketing and Events Coordinator Ashley Wulff and Recording Secretary Jenny Spencer were also present. Upon motion by Mr. Mecklenburg, seconded by Mr. Denney, and unanimously carried, minutes of the August 8, 2022 Parks Board meeting were approved. Upon motion of Mr. Denney seconded by Mr. Mecklenburg, and unanimously carried, General Fund Claims in the amount of $35,806.51 and Non-Reverting Fund Claims in the amount of $29,995.51, for a total of $65,802.02 were approved. Superintendent’s Report • Marketing Manager Haville provided a media update. WLFI carried a story with McAllister Program Director Tyler Laufman on the fall esports league on the evening news. Fall Movie Night has been announced. The movie Coco will be shown at 6:00pm on October 7th at Loeb Stadium, with gates opening at 5:00pm. Seasonal marketing staff have completed their time. We will be looking for a Fall marketing intern. • Superintendent Laufman provided a project update. The Cat Park All-Inclusive Sports Field is finishing up with grading and seeding. This project should be ready for dedication soon. The Columbian Park Restroom project is continuing to finalize their punch list. There is also grading being done around the building and should wrap up soon. We are working to finish out the season strong and provide updates from user groups after the close of season. Upon motion by Mr. Denney, seconded by Mr. Mecklenburg, and unanimously carried, Declaration of Surplus property was approved (See Attachment A).
