REGULAR MEETING OF THE LAFAYETTE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD 4:00 pm 28 August 2023 The City of Lafayette Parks and Recreation Board met in regular meeting at 4:00pm, August 28, 2023. The meeting was held at Rush Pavilion in Columbian Park. The meeting was called to order by Park Board President Matt Metzger. Board members present were Maurie Denney and Dave Mecklenburg. Parks Superintendent Claudine Laufman, Parks Director of Operations Jon Miner and Recording Secretary Jenny Spencer were present. Parks staff members present were Mike Perry, Kurt Wolf, Samantha Haville and Ashley Wulff. Upon motion by Mr. Denney, seconded by Mr. Mecklenburg and unanimously carried, minutes of the August 14, 2023, Parks Board meeting were approved. Upon motion of Mr. Mecklenburg, seconded by Mr. Denney, and unanimously carried, General Fund Claims in the amount of $21,314.19, Non-Reverting Fund Claims in the amount of $29,224.81 for a total of $50,539.00 were approved. Superintendent’s Report:  Marketing and Events Coordinator Ashley Wulff shared that Latinofest will be held at Columbian Park on September 23rd from 11am – 5pm. There will be food trucks, arts, crafts and not for profit vendors.  Deb Schmucker of Cornerstone PDS presented the results from the Master Plan Survey. Survey responses were robust and higher than expected. Ms. Schmucker explained the processes going into research of demographics, industry/population shifts and the strategic analysis of those changes and how they apply the survey responses to generate a thoughtful community input to the generation of the Master Plan.
