City of Lafayette Traffic Commission Meeting Minutes Tuesday October 1, 2013 Common Council Chamber Members Present: Larry Larrabee, Leon Dickson, Glenn Allen, Cindy Murray, Fred Koning, Jenny Leshney, Ron Campbell, Sallie Fahey, Max Smith, Bob Metzger and Mike Strauch Mr. Strauch called the meeting to order. Mr. Larrabee moved to approve the minutes of the July 2, 2013 meeting, Mr. Campbell seconded. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote. New Business: Speed Hump on Owen Street between Holloway Street and South 4th Street. Mrs. Leshney also informed the Commission she had received a request and petition from two citizens for a speed hump on Owen Street off of Holloway. Both gentlemen live on the corners of Joseph St. and Owen St. and have had multiple vehicles hit and damage to their yards. Mrs. Leshney noted she has seen damage due to accidents in this area and she is requesting the Commission to authorize a speed study for Owen Street. Discussion ensued. Mr. Campbell moved to order a speed study for the area, Mr. Larrabee seconded. The motion passed by unanimous voice vote. Citizen Safety Concern Intersection of Columbia and Third Street Mrs. Leshney spoke regarding a letter she had received about pedestrian safety crossing Columbia Street on the west side of Third Street. Discussion ensued, portions inaudible. Mr. Campbell moved to allow Engineering to make whatever changes are needed. The Motion passed by unanimous voice vote. Old Business: The 2014 Calendar of Meeting was submitted. The first meeting is scheduled for January 7, 2014 Large portion of the tape was inaudible.
