7. CONSENT AGENDA
Move to approve by omnibus vote items on the consent agenda.
Illinois law permits municipalities to adopt by one single unanimous roll-call vote of the Board of Trustees and the Village
President a group of designated ordinances, orders, resolutions, or motions placed together for voting purposes in a single group.
Following the motion’s second, a brief discussion may be held about any designated item. If lengthier discussion or debate is
needed, any Trustee or the Village President may request any item to be removed from the motion and those items will be
considered during the regular course of the meeting as they appear on the agenda.
All matters listed under Consent Agenda are considered to be routine by the Village Board and will be enacted by one motion in
the form listed above. There will be no further discussion of these items. If discussion is desired, that item will be removed from
Consent Agenda and will be considered separately.
A. CONSIDERATION OF A PROPOSAL FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES WITH
TRIA ARCHITECTURE OF BURR RIDGE, IL IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,500.00
FOR A SCHEMATIC DESIGN OF RENOVATIONS TO CREATE A
BREAKROOM SPACE IN VILLAGE HALL.
Summary:
With the budget discussions, there had been a discussion on creating an employee
breakroom/lunchroom area back by the kitchenette. The current set up does not allow
for an actual sit-down area for employees to eat their lunch; employees either eat at
their desk or in the conference room, and this creates a problem when meetings are
scheduled in the conference room.
Recommended Action:
Motion to approve a proposal for professional services with Tria Architecture of Burr
Ridge, IL in the lump sum amount of $5,500.00 for a schematic design of renovations
to create a breakroom space in Village Hall.
B. CONSIDERATION OF A PROPOSAL FROM BAXTER WOODMAN FOR
SOURCE WATER PROTECTION PLAN.
Summary:
In 2019, the Illinois Administrative Code Title 35 Part 604 Subpart C was made
effective, which requires a Source Water Protection Plan (SWPP) for each community
water supply that treats surface or groundwater as a primary or emergency supply of
water. The Village of Lake Barrington has to submit the SWPP to the IEPA by July 26,
2024 because our supply serves a population of less than 2,999.
Recommended Action:
Motion to approve a proposal from Baxter Woodman for the Source Water Protection
Plan in a lump sum fee of $8,000.00.
C. CONSIDERATION OF AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE OF LAKE
BARRINGTON VILLAGE CODE; FEES, CHARGES AND OTHER AMOUNTS
PAYABLE TO THE VILLAGE RELATIVE TO TITLE 7, BUILDING
REGULATIONS AND TITLE 8, ZONING, TITLE 7 CHAPTER 2, BUILDING
PERMITS.
Summary:
Our current building permit fees have not increased since 2011. Over the past six
months, the Building Permit Administrator and other Village staff have been working
on an updated building permit fee schedule. This is something that will be looked at
more frequently (i.e. every 3-5 years).
Recommended Action:
Motion to Approve Ordinance No. 2024-O-11, An Ordinance Amending the Village
of Lake Barrington Village Code; Fees, Charges and Other Amounts to the Village
Relative to Title 7, Building Regulations and Title 8, Zoning, Title 7 Chapter 2,
Building Permits.
