Borough of Lansdale Public Works Committee Minutes Meeting of May 1, 2024 Members Present Members Absent BJ Breish, Chairman Rich DiGregorio, Councilman Rachael Bollens (arrived late) Greg Rapp, Superintendent WWTP Jason Van Dame, Code Official Christopher Fazio, RV Engineers Minutes from the April 3, 2024 Public Works Committee were approved by a vote of 2-0. 1. Public Works Action Items 1.1. Ridge Street Outfall Replacement – Bids were opened on 4/25/24 and the low bidder was Jurich, Inc. with a bid of $146,143.00. The committee voted to put forth a motion to full council for award of this contract. This project is being funded by a grant secured by Representative Malagari. . 1.2. Request to apply a portion of the WWTP Capital Funds towards the purchase of used equipment for the Municipal complex – The committee voted to put forth a motion to full council to authorize the Borough manager to purchase used equipment for the utilities complex not to exceed $250,000. This money was made available after a couple of the WWTP Capital projects were funded through grant monies. 2. WWTP Action Items 2.1. DCED Flood Mitigation Program – The committee voted to put forth a motion and resolution to full council to authorize the submission of a grant proposal in the amount of $68,808.00 with a Borough match of $7, 437.00. 2.2. DCED Watershed Restoration & Protection Program (WRPP) – The committee voted to put forth a motion and resolution to authorize the submission of a grant proposal in the amount of $300,000 with the Borough’s match of $256,065.00 with applying for other funding sources or $582,310 if other funding is not available. 2.3. Chemical Feed Automation Project – The committee voted to put forth a motion to full council for approval of Change Order #4 in the amount of $3083.00 for removal of an existing sludge pipe. 3. Public Comment 4. Public Works Update 3.1. East Main Streetscape Project – Project has been awarded and executed contract documents were received for Borough execution. A preconstruction meeting will be scheduled soon. 3.2. Cherry Street Outfall Replacement Project – Trees have been removed, new inlet structure and new pipe for outfall have been installed. Grading, sifted topsoil, and seeding of the streambank took place last week. 3.3. Norway Drive Storm Sewer Repair – Project has been awarded and waiting for executed contract documents. The preconstruction meeting is scheduled for May 2nd. 5. WWTP Update 4.1. Chemical Feed Automation Project -Payment #3 in the amount of $28,560.97 was made to the contractor and Greg gave a brief update on this project.  Borough of Lansdale Public Works Committee Minutes Meeting of May 1, 2024 Continued 4.2. Blower & Aeration Upgrade – Bids are due May 22nd, and we anticipate a recommendation for award in June. 6. Other Business Items 5.1. Road Degradation Ordinance – RV Engineers gave a sample draft to Borough staff for review. 7. Old Business -Salford/Derstine Storm Sewer grant has been received. NPWA will be renewing their water main on Derstine so there will be some coordination with them. .8. New Business- Mr. Breish questioned patch paving on the section of Forrest that runs behind the YMCA. Mr. Van Dame mentioned the Public Works crews are working on alley maintenance. 9.
