Requests from person with disabilities must be made to the Community Development Department 24 hours in advance of the meeting. 1. CALLTOORDER/ROLLCALL Meeting convened at 6:22 p.m. Members Present: Jean Allais Health Officer Ron Mavrich Vice-Chair David Milam Members Absent: Becki Burman Chair Sandy Novick Secretary There was a quorum present at all times. Staff Present: Mary Murrieta Environmental Health Specialist Kathy Wickersham Administrative Assistant City Council Liaison: Dee Mickelson 2. APPROVALOFMINUTES-REVIEWOFJUNE17,2010MINUTES MOTION BY MILAM, second by Mavrich to approve the Thursday, June 17, 2010, Board of Health Meeting Minutes. Aye:3 Nay: 0 Motion carried. 3. NEW BUSINESS No items 4. OLD BUSINESS 4A. - Review of Policy and Procedures-Draft a. Boardwillreviewpages1-4ofthePolicyandProcedures-Draft(known hereaffer as P&P) and provide feedback at next meeting i. P& P are guidelines for inspector if a business needed to be brought before the Board b. Discussed several items of the P&P i. Murrieta wants monthly contact with Board for direction ii. Murrieta wants to review the procedures for a routine inspection to know the process if a business would be brought before the Board c. Inspections and inspection forms Laramie Board of Health July 15, 2010 Page 1 of 3  i. FDA forms are used and some forms Tyler Bandemer (former Health Inspector) used ii. Murrieta has found it useful to review reports from the previous Health Inspectors (Davis and Bandemer) iii. Board was provided a copy of the inspection forms and the check list used on inspections iv. Inspection forms have a point system for critical and non-critical violations i.The points accessed are used to determine how many times a year the business will be inspected (once, twice or four times a year) v. Business manager/owner and Inspector sign form at end of inspection vi. If any violations are detected, Murrieta will re-inspect i. At time of re-inspection, if any violations are still present Murrieta will write a letter to the business owner regarding findings ii. Business will be brought before the Board vii. Mavrich requested that Murrieta get a copy of the Cheyenne Inspector's inspection forms and check list d. Re-inspections i. Can fees be imposed for re-inspections? e. Murrieta to continue her training and proceed with joint inspections i. Joint inspections with Cheyenne's Health Inspector f. Board's role i. Board wants Murrieta to use the Board as a tool on re-inspections ii. Board will provide information on businesses to assist Inspector 4-B. Food Handler's Meeting/Press Release a. Board Members to review their personal calendars and contact Wickersham regarding available dates they could attend the Food Handler's Meeting b. Board wants Murrieta to write article for local newspaper and include date of Food Handler's Meeting 5. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS 5-A. Spreadsheet on monthly inspections a. Board requested a simple inspection spreadsheet b. Board will ask for more details on inspections if needed 6. ADJOURNMENT The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 6:1 5pm.
