CALLTOORDER/ROLLCALL Meeting convened at 6:22 p.m. Members Present: Becki Burman Chair Jean Allais Health Officer Ron Mavrich Vice-Chair David Milam Members Absent: Sandy Novick Secretary There was a quorum present at all times. Staff Present: Mary Murrieta Environmental Health Specialist Kathy Wickersham Administrative ASSistant City Council Liaison: Dee Mickelson (Absent) 2. APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND MINuTES 2-A. APPROVALOFAGENDA-FORAUGUST26,2010BOARDOFHEALTH MOTION BY ALLAIS, second by Mavrich to approve the Agenda. Aye:4 Nay: 0 Motion carried. 2-B. APPROVALOFMINUTES-REVIEWOFJULY15,2010MINUTES MOTION BY MAVRICH, second by Milam to approve the Thursday, July 15, 2010, Board of Health Meeting Minutes. Aye:4 Nay: 0 Motion carried. 3. NEW BUSINESS No items 4. OLD BUSINESS 4-A. - Review of Policy and Procedures-Draft, pages '1-4 a. Foodlicensesarerenewedannuallyonarollingcalendar,notJanuary1st - December 31S'. i. Procedure for request of information regarding inspections Laramie Board of Health August 26,2010 Page 1 of 3 ii. Citizen must fill out a "public record request form" and pay the fee b. Board reviewed and discussed the two inspection forms that are currently used c. Murrieta provided the Board with copies of four forms used for inspections in Cheyenne d. Murrieta uses the forms and then transfers the inspection to a computer form and prints it out for signatures and then provides a copy to the establishment e. Burman was concerned that the Policies and Procedures (P&P) did not conform to the FDA standards, and does not want the P&P to limit the form or format to be used for inspections f. Milam wants to reference the format of Retail Food Establishment Inspection Report in the P&P g. It was requested that the codes be added to the inspection forms to make them more self explanatory h. Milam requested that a form be developed with the FDA Format i. Mavrich was concerned about the word "history" in section #1 0 on page 4 of the P&P and suggested the wording be altered to "history of one or more" j. It was requested that the Temporary License section on page 11 of the P&P be moved to page 1 under the section entitled Licenses or make a reference on page 1 regarding the Temporary Licenses section on page 11 k. The Board will review pages 4-12 of the P&P-Draft and provide feedback at the next meeting 4-B. - Food Handler's Meeting/Press Release a. The Board liked the article regarding the Food Handler's Meeting that Murrieta wrote, and made several suggestions to add to the article i. The meeting is an "Open Forum" to include a met and greet and an opportunity to discuss subjects that the general public and/or local food handlers may bring up ii. Add more detail regarding the meeting iii. Board suggested running the article in the Boomerang as well as the Branding Iron b. Board would still be interested in the Boomerang doing an editorial on Murrieta to save on publishing cost 4C. - Review of Monthly Inspections a. Board liked the inspection report format a. Requested that there be a separate column for number of critical violations and non-critical violations b. Board reviewed the inspection list and asked for details on several establishments some that needed follow up inspections and others that are new to Laramie c. Milam recommended that the establishments that needed follow-up this month be at the top of next month's inspection report 5. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS No items 6.
