Requests from person with disabilities must be made to the Community Development Department 24 hours in advance of the meeting. 1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL Meeting convened at 6:20 PM Members present: Jean Allais, Becce Ford (Vice-Chair) and Aaron Taff Members absent: David Milam (Chair) and Beth Young-Jones There was a quorum present at all times. Staff Present: Mary Murrieta and Kathleen Wickersham City Council Liaison: Andrea Summerville (absent) 2. ELECTION FOR OFFICERS FOR 2015 2-A. Chairman 2-B. Vice-Chairman MOTION BY TAFF, second by Allais, to delete Election for Officers for 2015 from the Agenda, as the elections of officers occurred at the April 16, 2015 Board of Health meeting. Aye: 3 Nay: 0 Motion carried. 3. APPROVAL OF AGENDA AND MINUTES 3-A. AGENDA: Approval of the Agenda for the May 21, 2015 meeting. The Agenda was approved as written. 3-B. MINUTES: Thursday, January 15, 2015 Board of Health meeting MOTION BY ALLAIS, second by Taff, to postpone the approval the Minutes from the January 15, 2015 Board of Health meeting. Aye: 3 Nay: 0 Motion carried. 3-C. MINUTES: Thursday, February 19, 2015 Board of Health meeting MOTION BY ALLAIS, second by Taff, to postpone the approval the Minutes from the February 19, 2015 Board of Health meeting. MINUTES: Thursday, April 16, 2015, Board of Health Minutes MOTION BY TAFF, second by Allais, to delete from the agenda the approval of the Minutes from the April 16, 2015 meeting, as those meeting Minutes were not provided to the Board. Aye: 3 Nay: 0 Motion carried. 4. BOARD OF HEALTH AND STAFF: REPORTS AND COMMENTS No reports or comments 5. DISCLOSURES No disclosures 6. BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS 6-A. Review of Inspections i. April 10, 2015 - May 14, 2015 The Board reviewed and discussed the establishments on the monthly inspection report. Murrieta answered questions and provided additional information on various establishments. Murrieta stated that she would soon be inspecting the Ramada Inn pool and if there was no improvement she would bring it back before the Board at the next meeting. OLD BUSINESS 6-B. Board Procedures in Relation to Wyoming State Statutes and Regulations Murrieta shared that Council Liaison Summerville had been in contact with the interim City Attorneys regarding the Board’s desire to update pertinent Ordinances and their bylaws. The interim City Attorneys and the new City Attorney Jason Loos will be glad assist the Board with updating those documents. 6-C. Bylaws The Board discussed the recommended changes and updates to the Bylaws (Rules and Regulations of City of Laramie Board of Health (Revised January 2003) that were made at the April 16th meeting and agreed that there were no more items that needed to be changed or updated. 6-D. FDA Standards Volunteer Program, FDA Training Course Wyoming Department of Agriculture offered a FD 112 Food Code Course on May 13th and 14th in Riverton, Wyoming that Murrieta attended. She will use the training for her continued education credits and to meet FDA Standards. At the training she learned that the FDA Food Rules were updated to 2012 version from the 2009 version. Wyoming should adopt the 2012 FDA Food Rules this year. Mario Seminara, Rocky Mountain Region Retail Food Safety Specialist is available to attend a Board of Health meeting to discuss FDA Standards. Laramie Board of Health May 21, 2015 Page 2 of 3 6-E. Wyoming Food Freedom Act - Market Managers Murrieta contacted the Farmers Market Managers to discuss the Wyoming Food Freedom Act. The Thursday Farmers Market (in Undine Park) will not be allowing Wyoming Food Freedom Act items this year and will wait to see how others handle the new Act. 7. DATE OF NEXT REGULAR MEETING – JUNE 18, 2015 8. ADJOURN MOTION BY TAFF, second by Allais, to adjourn the meeting. Aye: 3 Nay: 0 Motion carried. The Board of Health meeting adjourned at 6:46 PM.
