CITY OF LATHRUP VILLAGE CITY COUNCIL STUDY SESSION MEETING MINUTES DECEMBER 16, 2019 MINUTES OF THE STUDY SESSION MEETING OF THE CITY OF LATHRUP VILLAGE HELD ON MONDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2019 IN THE CONFERENCE ROOM IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING 27400 SOUTHFIELD ROAD, LATHRUP VILLAGE, MICHIGAN. The meeting was called to order at 6:10 p.m. by Mayor Garrett and Roll Call was taken. Present: Mayor Mykale Garrett and Mayor Pro Tem Bruce Kantor Council members Ian Ferguson, Saleem Siddiqi, Donna Stallings Also Present: City Attorney, Scott Baker, Police Chief Scott McKee, Treasurer, Pamela Bratschi and City Clerk Yvette Talley Purpose of meeting is to discuss City Council Agenda items. B. Discussion Items: A. Discussion – Agenda Items A. Discussed the update on Hardaway complaint. The police department followed up on every Complaint, a misdemeanor citation was issued. B. Discussed Joint meeting dates. C. Discussed House in the Woods update- Pam Bratschi gave an overview that the property is billed for nuisance cuts, trees trimmed but owner pays delinquent property taxes before due date. Council member Ian Ferguson said he suggests a multi-generational dwelling be placed on the house in the wood’s property. Affordable senior housing or apartments with a garden, park and a small section for a dog park. Council member Ferguson will check for an architect for this property. D. Discussed Agenda items for the regular meeting of December 16, 2019. Mayor Pro Tem Kantor asked questions about the revocable permit encroachment license 27051 Southfield Rd. Mayor and council Comments Chief McKee gave an overview and answered specific questions from department reports. Mayor Pro Tem Kantor asked when will there be an announcement for increased enforcement on Southfield Rd. Chief McKee said all communities are on board to start soon. City Council would like a weekly update on Southfield Road. Part-time contractual grant writer for the city. Discussed starting the sidewalk program. Tentative date to start road millage meetings mid- January 2020.
