COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG June 14, 2018 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Council Member Williams, Mayor Durham and Council Member Sevier. Council Member Moore was absent. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the May 24, 2018 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. LUS Financials for May, 2018 were accepted. ORDINANCE NO. 1229 AN ORDINANCE FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ENTER INTO A COLLECTION SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN MUNICIPAL SERVICES CORPORATION (AMSC) PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF TCA §40-24-105(e) Second and Final Reading Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Durham informed the Council that this contract is unusual in form, and does not ask for the Mayor’s signature and he asked for a motion to allow Chris Shaffer to sign contract. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1234 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1207 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2017-2018 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE POLICE DEPARTMENT. Second and Final Reading Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1235 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1207 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2017-2018 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE CODES DEPARTMENT. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1236 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1207 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2017-2018 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE POLICE DEPARTMENT. First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO REAPPOINT JERRY JONES TO THE BOARD OF PUBLIC UTILITIES. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS TO BE USED TOWARD NEW WEAPONS AND RELATED EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT THROUGH A TRADE WITH KINGS FIREARMS AND MORE Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AFFIRM COMPLIANCE WITH FEDERAL TITLE VI REGULATIONS Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Meeting adjourned.
