COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG November 21, 2018 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Fox, Council Member Williams, Mayor Durham and Council Member Moore. Council Member Sevier was absent. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. A special mention during the prayer was for former Council Member and Police Officer, Jerry Moore, and his family due to his passing last evening. Also, for the blessing of having Robin Williams with us today after his medical emergency. Motion to approve the minutes of the November 8, 2018 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. April Judkins of Main Street Lawrenceburg gave a report on happenings on the square and the upcoming Wonder Fest. ORDINANCE NUMBER 1247 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 1090 ENTITLED, “PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS” FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE; SECTION V. – BENEFITS Motion to approve on second and final reading was made Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1248 AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO RATIFY AND CONFIRM THE EXISTING DEFENSIVE DRIVER IMPROVEMENT COURSES AS WELL AS INCORPORATE TENNESSEE CODE TITLE 55-10- 301 INTO THE LAWRENCEBURG MUNICIPAL CODE Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG KIWANIS CLUB TO USE THE DARRELL VALENTINE LEASED PARKING LOT AT THE CORNER OF WATERLOO STREET AND THE PUBLIC SQUARE FOR AN ICE SKATING RINK FOR THE WINTERFEST ACTIVITIES Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH BLUECROSS BLUESHIELD OF TENNESSEE, INC. FOR EMPLOYEE HEALTH INSURANCE Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. Council Member Fox asked “How much did our insurance increase this year?” Judy Hartsfield answered that it has been reduced by 4.79%.” When asked why, she replied “some of the taxes have been taken away due to actions by President Trump.” A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE PREMIER ELEVATOR COMPANY FOR ELEVATOR MAINTENANCE IN THE CITY MUNICIPAL COMPLEX Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Meeting adjourned.
