COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG March 28, 2019 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Mayor Lay, Council Member Fox, Council Member Williams, and Council Member Sevier. Council Member Moore was absent. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the March 14, 2019 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor Lay welcomed former Mayor Durham to the meeting. City Administrator, Chris Shaffer, reported on two Department of Public Works; George Morrison and Cody Tidwell. LUS Financials for January, 2019 have been received. ORDINANCE NO. 1261 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1241 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2018-2019 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE POLICE DEPARTMENT. – First Reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed ORDINANCE NO. 1262 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1241 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2018-2019 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT –Second Reading Motion to approve on second and final reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT TO AUDIT ACCOUNTS WITH THE ACCOUNTING FIRM OF YEARY, HOWELL AND ASSOCIATES FOR THE PERIOD FROM JULY 1, 2018 TO JUNE 30, 2019. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TO RESCIND RESOLUTION 2008-10-4A; RESOLUTION 2011-8-9B and 2018-26-4A ENTITLED “CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG PURCHASING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES” AND TO CREATE A NEW PURCHASING POLICY Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ALLOW THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO ACCEPT BIDS FOR VARIOUS EQUIPMENT FROM VARIOUS COMPANIES WITH FUNDS FROM FEMA ASSISTANCE TO FIRE FIGHTERS GRANT WITH A 5% MATCH Motion to approve was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE, TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF TWO 2019 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 4WD CREW CAB TRUCKS FROM HERITAGE AUTOMOTIVE CENTER FOR THE LAWRENCEBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed Meeting adjourned.
