COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG
June 11, 2020
The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The meeting was also held by teleconference.
The following members were present: Mayor Lay, Council Member Robin Williams, Council Member
Sevier and Council Member Moore. Council Member Fox was absent.
With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion to approve the minutes of the May 28, 2020 Council Meeting was made by Council Member
Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously.
The Mayor asked the following be read into the minutes
MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL
This is my second time around serving as the Mayor of Lawrenceburg, and as in years past, I have
always had the utmost confidence in the Lawrenceburg Police Department to perform their duties in a
professional manner. The same goes for the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and the State
Highway Patrol. I respect these hard-working individuals that put service above self in the
performance of their duties and the protection of the citizens of Lawrenceburg and Lawrence County.

ORDINANCE NO. 1288
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1275 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS
OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2019-2020 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE GENERAL DEPARTMENT. Second and final reading.
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier.
Motion passed unanimously.
ORDINANCE NO. 1289
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1275 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS
OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2019-2020 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE GENERAL DEPARTMENT. Second and final reading
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams.
Motion passed unanimously.

ORDINANCE NO. 1292
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG TO AMEND ORDINANCE 1202 TO ESTABLISH FEES ASSOCIATED WITH
THE USE OF FACILITIES THROUGH THE LAWRENCEBURG PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT – First Reading
ORDINANCE NO. 1293
AN ORDINANCE FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE ADOPTING THE
ANNUAL BUDGET AND TAX RATE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 2020 AND
ENDING JUNE 30, 2021 – First Reading

LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO REAPPOINT SHANE HUGHES TO THE BOARD OF
PUBLIC UTILITIES
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier.
Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AMEND RESOLUTION NUMBER 2020-28-5B TO
CHANGE JOHNS ALLEY TO JETER WAY
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Jamie, with a second by Council Member Williams.
Motion passed unanimously.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE REQUESTS
FOR PROPOSALS FROM INSURANCE BROKERS/CONSULTANTS QUALIFIED AND
INTERESTED IN PROVIDING EMPLOYEE BENEFITS BROKERAGE AND CONSULTING
SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier.
Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ALLOW THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR AND
ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND
INSURANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $136,000.00 AS A PASS-THROUGH FOR THE JASON
DICKEY MEMORIAL REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier.
Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG TO ACCEPT THE BID AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH
PRECISION FENCING FOR THE LAWRENCE COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FIELD
FENCING
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore.
Motion passed unanimously.
With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member
Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed.
