COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG September 10, 2020 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The meeting was also held by teleconference. The following members were present: Council Member Sevier, Council Member Moore and Council Member Williams, Council Member Fox and Mayor Lay. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the August 27, 2020 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. David White was presented a retirement award for over 28 years of service to the Lawrenceburg Police Department. Mayor Lay introduced and welcomed the new Main Street Director, Marty Bradley. She said, “She loves Lawrenceburg and is excited to have the appointment and is now terrified.” LUS Financials for July, 2020 were accepted. ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE NO. 1297 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1293 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2020-2021 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE GENERAL FUND. Second and final reading Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO AMEND RESOLUTION 2020-13-8D AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH RHODES ENGINEERING AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES, LLC Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE IN ORDER TO HONOR JAMES FIELDS WITH A SIGN PLACED ON THE STOP SIGN AT FIRST AVENUE AND FIRST STREET AS “JAMES FIELDS WAY” Mr. Fields has had a Barber Shop in Lawrenceburg since 1950 and September 18 is his 90th Birthday, and he is still in that Barber Shop cutting hair.
