COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG December 3, 2020 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The meeting was also held by teleconference. The following members were present: Council Member Sevier, Council Member Williams, Council Member Fox, Mayor Lay and Council Member Moore. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the November 12, 2020 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. Chad Moore made a motion to change the Council Meeting from December 17 to December 15 at 12:30 a.m. following the Swearing in Ceremony for the newly elected Council Members, Ronald Fox and Jamie Sevier. Second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. The Spirit of Santa Breakfast is this Friday, please go and bring your checkbook. Fire Chief, Jay Moore gave a report on the condition of his department. He has 6 people that have tested positive for Covid 19 and fully expects 2 more to test positive. He is planning for worse-case scenario as far as covering for calls. One of his facilities will be used to provide the Covid shots as soon as they are ready to be distributed. ORDINANCE NO. 1298 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE 886, 941, 1034, 1038 AND 1160 TO AMEND TITLE 17, CHAPTER (1) OF THE LAWRENCEBURG MUNICIPAL CODE ENTITLED "REFUSE AND TRASH DISPOSAL” AS INDICATED BELOW INCLUDING – SERVICE FEES FOR COLLECTION AND REMOVAL OF REFUSE, TRASH, GARBAGE AND OTHER MATERIALS. – Second and Final Reading Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. ORDINANCE NO. 1299 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1293 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2020-2021 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE GENERAL FUND. – Second and Final Reading Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE, TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A 2021 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 4WD CREW CAB FROM WILSON COUNTY MOTORS FOR USE BY THE LAWRENCEBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ACCEPT THE BID OF SOUTHEAST APPARATUS TO PURCHASE FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT (PUMPER TANKER) Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ENCOURAGE THE STATE ACQUISITION OF MARTIN METHODIST COLLEGE TO ESTABLISH A FOURTH UNDERGRADUATE CAMPUS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF TENNESSEE SYSTEM Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Moore. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO REAPPOINT DANA CARVELL TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned.
