COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG February 11, 2021 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The meeting was also held by teleconference. The following members were present: Council Member Sevier, Council Member Williams, Council Member Fox, Mayor Lay and Council Member Moore. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the January 14, 2021 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Fox with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. City Administrator, Chris Shaffer, recommended Shelton Barnett as Director of the Codes/Planning Development Department. The Council was in agreement, he has therefore been titled Director, with a motion by Council Member Moore, and a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously City offices will be closed February 15, in observance of Presidents Day. LUS Financials for December, 2020 have been accepted. ORDINANCE NUMBER 1303 AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON A 4,180.50 SQUARE FOOT SECTION OF AN ALLEY OFF THE WEST SIDE OF HIGHWAY 43 THAT RUNS BETWEEN 3r d STREET AND 4t h STREET; RETENTION OF UTILITY EASEMENTS; REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; EFFECTIVE DATE – First reading Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG TO REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS ON THE DOWNTOWN LANDSCAPING AND MAINTENANCE PROJECT Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO APPOINT SHELTON BARNETT AS THE LAWRENCEBURG/LAWRENCE COUNTY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR (EMA) Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS TO DISPOSE OF IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG PURCHASING POLICY Motion to approve was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL TO ALLOW THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO ACCEPT THE ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT FOR BIOHAZARD PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT IN RESPONSE TO COVID- 19 OR OTHER RELATED EMERGENCIES GRANT NUMBER EMW-2020-FG-05418 Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE, TO AMEND RESOLUTION 2020-3-12A APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF A 2021 CHEVROLET AND INSTEAD APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF A 2021 F- 150 SUPER CREW CAB FROM FORD OF MURFREESBORO FOR USE BY THE LAWRENCEBURG POLICE DEPARTMENT. Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed. Meeting adjourned.
