COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG
March 11, 2021
The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The meeting was also held by teleconference.
The following members were present: Council Member Sevier, Council Member Fox, and Vice Mayor
Williams. Mayor Lay and Council Member Moore were absent
With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion to approve the minutes of the February 25, 2021 Council Meeting was made by Council
Member Fox with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
Jim Taubken, Bob and Teresa Kelly were in the meeting and the Council allowed them to speak;
Mr. Taublen spoke about his neighbor, John Hall, and the many disturbances he is causing in the
neighborhood. Constant foot and vehicle traffic; people in his yard and on his porch; noise 24-7; trash
everywhere their shed caught fire and burned down his fence and burned up his car; and wanted to
know what law there is to protect him from these people. The Kellys reiterated his complaints and said
they have in as much lost their business at the Garrett house because of these events.
Attorney Betz suggested they file a nuisance suit in court.
LUS Financials for January, 2021 were accepted as approved.
ORDINANCE(S)
ORDINANCE NUMBER 1305
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1293 ENTITLED BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS
OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2020-2021 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE GENERAL FUND. Second and Final Reading.
Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council
Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously.
ORDINANCE NUMBER 1306
AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON A 12 FOOT GRASS ALLEY BETWEEN PARK STREET
AND EVERGREEN STREET; RUNNING NORTH TO SOUTH; RETENTION OF ANY UTILITY
EASEMENTS; REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; EFFECTIVE DATE. First Reading
Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council
Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
RESOLUTIONS

LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO REAPPOINT JUSTIN HOLT TO THE LAWRENCEBURG
HISTORICAL ZONING COMMISSION
Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council
Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO REAPPOINT JUSTIN HOLT TO THE LAWRENCEBURG
HISTORICAL ZONING COMMISSION
Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council
Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION TO APPROVE AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ATTACHED LIST OF NON-
PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS BY THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG DURING THE 2020-2021
FISCAL YEAR
Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council
Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE, TO APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF ONE GROUNDSMASTER
3505-D MOWER FROM SMITH TURF & IRRIGATION IN NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE FOR USE
IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council
Member Fox. Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO DECLARE CERTAIN PROPERTY IN THE SANITATION
DEPARTMENT AS SURPLUS TO BE DISPOSED OF IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG PURCHASING
POLICY
Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council
Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ALLOW THE FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR AND
ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE STATE OF TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE AND
INSURANCE IN THE AMOUNT OF $136,000.00 AS A PASS-THROUGH FOR THE JASON
DICKEY MEMORIAL REGIONAL TRAINING CENTER
Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Fox, with a second by Council
Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council Member
Sevier, with a second by Council Member Fox. Motion passed.
