COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG
April 14, 2022
The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session.
The following members were present: Mayor Lay, Council Member Sevier and Council
Member Moore. Council Member Williams and Council Member Fox were absent.
With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion to approve the minutes of the March 24, 2022 Council Meeting was made by Council
Member Moore with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
Michele Gantz, Main Street Director, informed the Council of a grant Main Street plans to apply
for in the amount of $250,000.00 to replace the Gazebo.
City Offices closed on April 15, in honor of Good Friday.
LUS Financials for February, 2022 were accepted and Director, Vic Pusser informed the Council
that we did not lose any transformers during last evening storm. We had a lot of power outages
due to trees and poles snapping.

ORDINANCE NO. 1332
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1317 ENTITLED BUDGET OF
REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2021-2022 FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE SAFETY DEPARTMENT. Second and Final Reading
Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by
Council Member Sevier. Motion passed.
ORDINANCE NO. 1333
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.1317 ENTITLED BUDGET
APPROPRIATIONS OF REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES FOR THE 2021-2022
FISCAL YEAR FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE FIRE
DEPARTMENT. Second and Final Reading
Motion to approve on second reading was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by
Council Member Moore. Motion passed.
RESOLUTION(S)
A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG TO ENTER INTO AN OPTION TO PURCHASE PROPERTY FOR THE
TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CONSTRUCTION AND
MAINTENANCE OF AN INDUSTRIAL HIGHWAY FOR THE BENEFIT OF CABINETS TO
GO, DURA AUTOMOTIVE AND MITY LITE, INC. INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES IN THE
CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member
Sevier. Motion passed unanimously
A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG TO ACCEPT A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT
(CDBG) TO BE ADMINISTERED BY SOUTH CENTRAL TENNESSEE DEVELOPMENT
DISTRICT (SCTDD) FOR LIGHTING IN UNDERSERVED AREAS OF LAWRENCEBURG
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member
Moore. Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF
TENNESSEE FOR THE SWEEPING OF STATE STREETS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS OF
LAWRENCEBURG AND OTHER STREET AND/OR RIGHT OF WAY MAINTENANCE
AGREEMENTS.
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member
Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL TO ALLOW THE CITY
OF LAWRENCEBURG DEPARTMENTS AND ENTITIES TO APPLY AND ACCEPT THE
2022 AAA TENNESSEE COMMUNITY GRANTS
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member
Moore. Motion passed unanimously
A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL TO ALLOW THE CITY
OF LAWRENCEBURG TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A $100,000.00 GRANT FROM
KUBOTA
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member
Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LAWRENCEBURG TO ACCEPT THE GRANT FROM TENNESSEE HOUSING
DEVELOPMENT AGENCY FOR HOME GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF ($500,000)
FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR THE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG TO HELP IN BRINGING THEIR HOMES UP TO CODE
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member
Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
City Administrator, Chris Shaffer, informed the Council that we have the applications at the
Municipal Building for those wishing to apply for the Home Grant which will bring their house
up to code.
With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council
Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed.
