COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG
June 23, 2022
The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session.
The following members were present: Council Member Sevier, and Council Member Williams.
Council Member Moore and Mayor Lay Council Member Fox was absent.
With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the
Pledge of Allegiance.
Motion to approve the minutes of the June 9, 2022 Council Meeting was made by Council
Member Williams a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously.
City Offices closed for July 4, with residential trash being picked up on Thursday, following the
holiday.
Mayor Lay announced the appointment of Kinley Jones to replace Lonnie Bailey and Lance
Green to replace Lyndon Smith on the Planning Commission.
The Lawrenceburg Police Department presented Lori Bradford with a Life Saving Award as she
has prevented the death of at least 6 citizens in the course of her career, so far. Chief Beecham
gave a report of her actions and Assistant Chief Goolsby presented her with the award, as voted
by her peers.
The Mayor and Council thanked Lori, the Police Officers and all Emergency Personnel for
efforts in serving and protecting our citizens. Council Member Sevier stated that he is often
called by visitors on how personable and professional our departments are.
Chief Beecham announced the hiring of two officers, Brett Oliver and Ben McDow.
RESOLUTION(S)
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO CONTINUE THE AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE
OF TENNESSEE DRIVER SERVICES DIVISION TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF
SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BEGINNING JULY 1, 2022 TO JUNE 30, 2027,
PROCURING REGISTRATION ID 0000004091
Motion to approve was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member
Sevier. Motion passed
A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL TO APPLY FOR AND
ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE TENNESSEE ARTS COMMISSION TO BE
ADMINISTERED BY MAIN STREET FOR PROJECTS CONNECTED WITH THE
CROCKETT THEATER
Motion to approve was made y Council Member Williams, with a second by
Council Member Moore. Motion passed.
Vic Pusser gave an update on two linemen that were injured this week. They are not directly
employed by LUS, they were contract workers. One had facial burns and the other had sever
burns and in Vanderbilt. Not sure of skin grafts yet.
With no further business to come before the board motion to adjourn was made by Council
Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed.
