COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG January 26, 2023 The Board of Mayor and Council met in regular session. The following members were present: Council Member Williams, Council Member Moore, Mayor Lay, and Council Member Sevier. Council Member Fox was absent. With a quorum present the meeting was called to order. The meeting opened with Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. Motion to approve the minutes of the December 22, 2022 Council Meeting was made by Council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. Shelton Barnett presented Chris Bryant with his certificate of Residential Mechanical Inspector. Fire Chief Jay Moore gave the Council an update on the happenings at the Lawrenceburg Fire Department. Sanitation Director, Gary Hyde, informed the Council that we received the fabric but it has been too wet to place it. Parks and Recreation Director, Pam Hyde updated the Council on the Parks and Recreation Public Hearing on the Master Plan. City Administer updated the Council on the progress in the HR Department and the purchase of the Church property. LUS Director, Vic Pusser was asked about the power grid during the unusually cold weather during Christmas. Lawrenceburg fared well compared to others. We had rolling black outs at 15 minute intervals and operated that from the office. We had some broken water mains and several residents had broken water lines. ORDINANCE(S) ORDINANCE NUMBER 1356 AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE AND ABANDON A 0.06 ACRE SECTION OF CUL DE SAC OFF THE SOUTH SIDE OF MOTIVATION DRIVE; RETENTION OF UTILITY EASEMENTS; REPEAL OF CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; EFFECTIVE DATE Motion to approve on first reading was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed. RESOLUTION(S) A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO RECOGNIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT AS THE PRIMARY RESCUE ORGANIZATION FOR THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG. Motion to approve was made by council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR THE FY 2022 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT (AFG) TO PURCHASE FIREFIGHTING EQUIPMENT AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR VICKERS CONSULTING SERVICES INC., TO APPLY FOR SAID GRANT Motion to approve was made by council Member Sevier, with a second by Council Member Williams. Motion passed unanimously. A RESOLUTION FOR THE BOARD OF MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWRENCEBURG, TENNESSEE TO AUTHORIZE THE LAWRENCEBURG FIRE DEPARTMENT TO APPLY FOR AN ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS REGIONAL GRANT (AFG) TO PURCHASE RADIO EQUIPMENT AND ENTER INTO A CONTRACT OR VICKERS CONSULTING SERVICES INC., TO APPLY FOR SAID GRANT Motion to approve was made by council Member Williams, with a second by Council Member Sevier. Motion passed unanimously. With no further business to come before the Board motion was made by Council Member Moore, with a second by Council Member Sevier to adjourn. Meeting adjourned.
