Hooper-Renwick Minutes Hooper-Renwick Minutes Hooper-Renwick Legacy Preservation Committee Meeting Date: Tuesday, May 18, 2021, 6:00 p.m. Call to Order Chairperson Theresa Bailey called the meeting to order at 6 pm Present: 1. Theresa Bailey 4.Marlene Taylor- 7. Gwendolyn Taylor 2. Vivian Daniel Crawford 8. Rory Johnson 3.Rubye Neal 5. John Maxey 9. Coni Brown 6. Joyce Moore Absent: Dr. R. D. Dunnigan Gary Glen Greg Lott Additional Attendance: Mayor Pro Tem Victoria Jones Council Member Glenn Martin Prayer – Rory Johnson Committee Member Rory Johnson led the prayer. Quorum/Roll Call - Joyce Moore Committee Member Moore completed the roll call of the members and confirmed a quorum. Norms – Vivian Daniel Committee Member Daniel reminded the members of the six (6) Norms of Behavior Approval of Prior Meeting Minutes - Chair Theresa Bailey Minutes from the meeting held on 4/20/21 were adopted and approved by the Committee Minutes from the Special Call Meeting held on 5/01/21 were adopted and approved by the Committee Old Business:  Update on Past/Perfect Software - Marlene Taylor Crawford Member Taylor-Crawford reminded that the restoration/repair of donated/loaned artifacts would occur only on a case-by-case basis with prior approval. Update on Gathering of Artifacts - Joyce Moore Vice Chair Moore advised the committee that as of May 15, 2021 seventy-seven (77) artifacts had been committed to the library museum. She reminded the committee that Hooper-Renwick Minutes she had emailed copies of the Artifacts Report to them on May 20, 2021. There was additional discussion about the artifacts that committee members Bailey, Brown, Crawford-Taylor, Moore and Taylor identified on their tour of the Mt Calvary United Methodist Church on May14, 2021. Multiple smaller items like collection plates, choir robes and Bible/Hymnals were retrieved from the church and transported to City Hall for storage by Council Member Glen Martin and Executive Assistant Paula Foil. Larger artifacts such as furniture, stain glass windows, church bell, et al, will be salvaged when the building is demolished and put into storage by the city. The meeting was abruptly interrupted by loud music which appeared to come from someone attempting to join. Vice-Chair Moore asked that they put their sound on mute. The caller responded by spewing profanities and racially offensive language. Member Rory Johnson observed that we had been hacked by a “Zoom Bomber.” After brief discussion, Chair Bailey adjourned the meeting at 6:32 pm.
