Opening ceremonies: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by Mayor Corey Christensen. All present were welcomed. The invocation was offered by Councilmember Ray Evans. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Mayor Corey Christensen. Town Officials present: Mayor Corey Christensen and Councilmembers Ray Evans, Bruce Rowley and Taryn Brooks. Councilmember Jesse Richmond was absent. Town Staff present: Elizabeth Hone, Town Clerk Others present: Rebecca Dopp (Times-News) 2. Discussion Items: a. Resident Tim Smith, who lives just south of the park on the highway, had reported that he felt the temporary electronic speed limit sign that had been on the highway had really helped, especially with the big trucks. He had suggested that the town ask for a permanent one to be placed there. The town council said they would do some investigation to see if that is possible. b. The council said they will look over the request from the Department of Transportation for comments on how effective the things they have been doing are for allowing input from rural town. c. The council was reminded about getting any suggestions on the General Plan draft to Heather Poulsen, planning commission secretary, by Monday, July 19th. They said they would let her know. 3. Mayor/Council Member/Department/Committee Reports: a. Mayor/Council Members: Councilmember Taryn Brooks said that a sign with the rules for the splash pad had been ordered. She also reported that the town may be able to get a backstop, outfield fences, and lights from Payson City if we are able to come get them. There will also be some bleachers that will be auctioned. These things should be available on July 17th or in September. Taryn also asked that the council all plan on coming and helping at the 24th Celebration. Mayor Corey Christensen let the council know that Jilean Ercanbrack had turned in her two week notice for working as the town hall custodian. He wanted to publicly thank her for her work at the town hall. The job has been posted as the town is looking for a replacement for Jilean. b. Planning Commission: None c. Committee: None d. Other: None 5. Council Business: a. Approval of Minutes – June 16, 2021 – Public Hearing (Budget June 16, 2021 – Public Hearing (Enterprise Funds Transfer) June 16, 2021 – Regular Session Councilmember Ray Evans made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Bruce Rowley, to approve the minutes for the two ublic Hearings and the regular session dated June 16, 2021. All council members present were in favor. Motion carried. b. Approval of Claims Councilmember Taryn Brooks made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Ray Evans, to approve the Claims dated 6/01/2021 to 6/30/2021. All council members present were in favor. Approval of Payroll Comparison Report Councilmember Ray Evans made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Taryn Brooks, to approve the Payroll Comparison Report dated 5/01/2021 to 6/30/2021. All council members present were in favor. Motion carried. d. Approval of Final Cash Receipts Report Councilmember Taryn Brooks made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Ray Evans, to approve the Cash Receipts Report dated 5/1/2021 to 5/31/2021. All council members present were in favor. Motion carried. e. Review of Tentative Cash Receipts Report The council reviewed the Cash Receipts Report dated 6/01/2021 to 6/30/2021. f. Budget Report Review The council reviewed the budget report for 7/01/2020 to 6/30/2021. 6. Adjourn: Councilmember Taryn Brooks made the motion, seconded by Councilmember Ray Evans, to adjourn. All council members present were in favor.
