January 17, 2022

Town Officials present:
Mayor Bruce Rowley and Councilmembers Ray Evans, and Taryn Brooks were
present. Councilmember Chris Webb attended virtually.
Town Staff present: Town Clerk Heather Poulsen.
Others present: Amy Lowe
Welcome:
Mayor Bruce Rowley opened the meeting and welcomed all present at 6:59
PM.
Discussion Items:
1. Town Council applicant Sue Kendall was not able to be in
attendance at the meeting. Secretary Heather Poulsen read a
letter in her behalf about why she loved Levan and her
qualifications to be on the town council. Applicant Amy Lowe
then took a turn introducing herself and explaining why she
would like to serve on the town council. The council took a
minute to ask Amy a few questions. Councilmember Taryn
Brooks made the motion to appoint Amy Lowe to fill the vacant
town council seat that was left when Bruce Rowley was elected
mayor. Councilmember Ray Evans seconded the motion and the
vote was as follows

Ray Evans-Yes
Taryn Brooks- Yes
Chris Webb- No
The motion carried
Mayor Bruce Rowley appointed Amy Lowe to be the new Levan
town Council Member for the next two years.

Adjournment: Councilmember Ray Evans made the motion, seconded by
Councilmember Taryn Brooks, to adjourn. All members present were in favor.
Meeting adjourned at 7:18 pm.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Mayor and members of the Town Council of the
Town of Levan, Juab County, State of Utah, give notice that a vacancy in the
Levan Town Council was created by the election of Bruce Rowley to the office
of Mayor in the November 2021 Municipal Election. They invite interested
individuals to apply for this council position.
1. The mayor and remaining council members will hold a Special Council Meeting on
Monday January 17, 2022 to make the appointment to fill the council position,
at its regular meeting place, the Levan Town Hall, 20 North Main, Levan, Utah, at the
hour of 7:00 P.M.
2. This position will be filled by appointment by the mayor and town council.
3. This appointment will be for the time period of two years and until January
2024, following the next municipal election which will be held in November of
2023.
4. Those interested in applying for the council position may submit their
application to Elizabeth Hone, Levan Town Clerk, at the town office. The office
hours are Mon. – Thurs. 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.
5. The deadline for name submission is Monday, January 17, 2022, at 12:30 P.M.
6. Those who have submitted their application need to attend the Special Town
Council Meeting on Monday January 17, 2022 at 7:00 P.M. for an interview
and the announcement of the who will be appointed. This will be an open
public meeting.
7. Eligibility for the council position:
a. Be a United States citizen.
b. Be at least 18 years old and a registered voter of the municipality.
c. Be a resident of the municipality for 12 consecutive months immediately
preceding the date of appointment and maintain a principal place of residence
within the municipality during the term of office.
d. Not be a convicted felon, unless the right to hold elective office has been
restored.
