Library Board of Trustees Meeting Minutes December 8, 2021 Held Remotely Attending: Trustees; Sandi Bishop, Danielle Palm, Tim Olsen and Brad Hamblet Joanne Percy-Library interim director Jenn Camp- interim city administrator ▪ Meeting was called to order by Sandi Bishop at I:05 ▪ Minutes from November were approved with one correction. Teresa Tapao should have been referred to as a trustee designee . ▪ Library director report: Joanne New hire Peter is working out well and all positions are now accounted for A holiday crafting party will take the place of Santa this year . Dec. 18 There have been a lot of requests for covid test kits. exact number not known at this time Received a 1,000 dollar donation from STCU A New program called reading Buddies will occur every month beginning on Jan.28 and 29. The program will Pair K-4 grade students with teen volunteers ▪ Friends of the Library: Danielle Danielle swore in the friends of the library new officers for 2022: President— Sue Hamblet; V.P. — Pat Skattum; Treasure— Betty Kennedy; Secretary— Betsy Martin; At large— Mary Manley The friends voted to increase budget for the library from $6,000 to $6,500 voted to make an exception to the by-laws to allow Laura Reeves and Holly Woodruff to maintain their membership Fall book sale was very successful Soiree is July13 Received $400 from Better World Books. one hundred boxes of books were sent in 2021 ▪ City Council: Jen $100,000 approved for the Library in 2022 city budget $100,000 in subsequent years 2023-2027 is still to be determined council would like to hold a workshop to review the Library community and facility needs assessment and recommendations completed December 2019. Discussion followed. Tim moved that the board prepare a presentation for the city council at their Feb 15 meeting. Brad second. Motion carried. ▪ Ongoing Business: Going to reach out to Lisa in regards to writing a grant for capital funds form the state Danielle moved to delay new trustee training second by Tim. motion carried ▪ New Business: Brad moved to postpone determining board positions and appoint an interim chair. second Danielle. motion carried Brad moved to appoint Danielle as board pf trustees interim chair person. Tim second. Motion carried. A discussion ensued regarding the information provided to us by the architect through Sandis’ inquiry. It was agreed that the information provided by the architect would be very useful for our presentation to the city council. Sandi moved that the board provide a baby gift for baby Humble to be presented in January. Tim second. Motion carried. Danielle moved to confirm that Sandi will provide cinnamon rolls for the library staff. Brad second. Motion Carried ▪ Meeting adjourned at 2:17pm ▪ Next Meeting is January 12 at 1pm
