Fox Valley Metro Police Department Police Commission Meeting Minutes November 13, 2012 Present: Mark Van Thiel, Vice President Bill Van Berkel, Secretary Scott Schommer Laurie Verhagen Kerry Ruhnke Excused: Chuck Rundquist Guest: Chief Erik Misselt, FVMPD Vice President Mark Van Thiel called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. Roll call was taken and one member of the commission was excused: Chuck Rundquist. Approval of Minutes A motion was made by Laurie Verhagen, seconded by Scott Schommer, to approve the minutes of the September 11, 2012 meeting of the Commission. Approved by voice vote, 4-0. Public Appearances to Address the Police Commission None Chief’s Report Chief Misselt reported to the commission of the overall trend of criminal activities going on in the Villages of Little Chute, Kimberly, and Combined Locks and how the department is emphasizing training for major cases. Chief advised the 2013 budget for the department has been approved. Chief attended the Wisconsin Police Executive Group meeting in Madison last week and noted he is hoping to become more involved in chief’s association. Commission President Communications None The next police commission meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the Conference Room of the Combined Locks Civic Center, 405 Wallace Street, Combined Locks, Wisconsin.
