City of Loganville Planning & Development Planning Commission Public Hearing Municipal Council Chambers 4385 Pecan Street Thursday, August 26, 2016 • 6:30 p.m. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. Invocation was given by Chairman, Janice Tribble followed by the pledge of allegiance. ATTENDANCE: Planning & Development Director, Tim Prater; Planning Commission Chairman Janice Tribble; Planning Commissioners, Bruce Granoff, Barbara Forrester, Richard Homick, Danny Ford and Lisa Newberry. Faye Lamb was absent. City Councilman Skip Baliles and Fire Marshal Kent Durden were also in attendance. Administrative assistant, Nina Ramsey recorded the minutes. MINUTES APPROVED: A motion was made by Barbara Forrester and seconded by Danny Ford to approve the minutes from May 5, 2016. Motion carried 5 – 0. BUSINESS: Case #R16-010 – Victory Baptist Church filed an application to rezone approximately 24.99 acres located at 150 Clark McCullers Road, Map/Parcel #LG11-161, Walton County, Georgia. The property owner is the Walton County Board of Education. The current zoning is R-44. The requested zoning is CH to allow the relocation of Victory Baptist Church and School. Jonathan Davis and Derik Lawrence were present. A motion was made by Richard Homick and seconded by Barbara Forrester to recommend approval of the rezone. Motion carried 4 – 1 with Danny Ford opposing; therefore the recommendation is to approve the rezone. Case #R16-011 – Victory Baptist Church filed an application to rezone approximately 10.12 acres located at 152 Clark McCullers Road, Map/Parcel #LG11-163, Walton County, Georgia. The property owner is the Walton County Board of Education. The current zoning is R-44. The requested zoning is CH to allow the relocation of Victory Baptist Church and School. Jonathan Davis and Derik Lawrence were present. A motion was made by Bruce Granoff and seconded by Barbara Forrester to recommend approval of the rezone. Motion carried 4 – 1 with Danny Ford opposing; therefore the recommendation is to approve the rezone. ADJOURN – A motion was made by Barbara Forrester and seconded by Lisa Newberry to adjourn. Motion carried 5 – 0.
