City of Loganville Planning & Development Planning Commission Public Hearing Municipal Council Chambers 4385 Pecan Street Thursday, January 26, 2017• 6:30 p.m. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. Invocation was given by Chairman, Janice Tribble followed by the pledge of allegiance. ATTENDANCE: Planning & Development Director, Tim Prater; Planning Commission Chairman Janice Tribble; Planning Commissioners, Bruce Granoff, Barbara Forrester, Richard Homick, Faye Lamb, Anne Coles and Lisa Newberry. City Councilman Skip Baliles was also in attendance. Administrative assistant, Nina Ramsey recorded the minutes. MINUTES APPROVED: A motion was made by Barbara Forrester and seconded by Anne Coles to approve the minutes from August 26, 2017. Motion carried 6 – 0. BUSINESS: ELECT VICE CHAIRMAN – A motion was made by Bruce Granoff and seconded by Lisa Newberry to elect Barbara Forrester as the Vice Chairman to finish out Danny Ford’s term as Vice Chairman. The term shall expire January of 2018. Case #V17-001 – PV-PB Athens, LLC filed an application requesting a variance on approximately 2+/- acres to reduce rear and side buffers on property located at 185 Athens Highway, Map/Parcel #5159-254, Gwinnett County, GA. The property owner is SFI Development, LLC. The current zoning is CH. A motion was made by Barbara Forrester and seconded by Lisa Newberry to recommend approval of the variance. Motion carried 6 – 0; therefore the recommendation is to approve the variance. Case #V17-002 – Stone Mountain Atl Hwy, LLC filed an application requesting a variance on approximately 2.871+/- to reduce the side yard setback on property located at 4200 Atlanta Highway, Map/Parcel #5160-192, Gwinnett County, GA. The property owner is Stone Mountain Atl Hwy, LLC. The current zoning is CH. A motion was made by Bruce Granoff and seconded by Barbara Forrester to recommend approval of the variance. Motion carried 5 – 0 with Lisa Newberry opposing; therefore the recommendation is to approve the variance. Case #R17-003 – Claude E. Hicks filed an application requesting to rezone approximately 1.479+/- acres located at 4283 Pecan Street, Map/Parcel #LG05-0139, Walton County, GA. The property owner is Alice H. Harbin Estate/Brenda Escoe. The current zoning is R-16. The requested zoning is R-22. A motion was made by Richard Homick and seconded by Lisa Newberry to recommend approval of the rezone. Motion carried 6 – 0 therefore; the recommendation is to approve the rezone. ADJOURN - A motion was made by Lisa Newberry and seconded by Anne Coles to adjourn the meeting.
