OCEAN BOULEVARD, 1:00 PM PRESENTATION John Keisler, Director of the Department of Economic Development, presented the City's Blueprint for Economic Development (a catalyst for new and ongoing dialogue and cooperation among all stakeholders who view the creation of economic opportunities as fundamenal to enhancing the quality of life in the City of Long Beach). Commissioners Alice Bruns, Ciara Calsita, Sherry Diamond, Connie Gutierrez, Present: Chris Karadjov and Nubia Flores Cedeno Commissioners Jamone Pili and Deaka McClain Absent: APPROVAL OF MINUTES 2. 19-009CA Recommendation to approve minutes from the February 14, 2019 meeting of the Citizen's Advisory Commission on Disabilities. A motion was made by Commissioner Bruns, seconded by Commissioner Diamond, to approve recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 6 - Alice Bruns, Ciara Calsita, Sherry Diamond, Connie Gutierrez, Chris Karadjov and Nubia Flores Cedeno Absent: 2 - Jamone Pili and Deaka McClain STANDING COMMITTEE AND AD HOC REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS Page 2 of 5 CITY OF LONG BEACH THURSDAY, APRIL 11, 2019 CITIZENS' ADVISORY SECOND THURSDAY, CITY COUNCIL COMMISSION ON CHAMBER, DISABILITIES MINUTES 333 W. OCEAN BOULEVARD, 1:00 PM 3. 19-010CA Recommendation to receive and file monthly report by the Youth, Employment & Programs standing commitee and/or adopt any recommendations this committee would like to make. A motion was made by Commissioner Gutierrez, seconded by Commissioner Bruns, to approve recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 6 - Alice Bruns, Ciara Calsita, Sherry Diamond, Connie Gutierrez, Chris Karadjov and Nubia Flores Cedeno Absent: 2 - Jamone Pili and Deaka McClain 4. 19-011CA Recommendation to receive and file monthly report by the Accessibility, Transportation & Services standing committee and/or adopt any recommendations this body would like to make. A motion was made by Commissioner Diamond, seconded by Commissioner Calsita, to approve recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 6 - Alice Bruns, Ciara Calsita, Sherry Diamond, Connie Gutierrez, Chris Karadjov and Nubia Flores Cedeno Absent: 2 - Jamone Pili and Deaka McClain 5. 19-012CA Recommendation to receive and file and/or approve any recommendations from the 'Stamped Concrete/Decorative Surfaces' ad hoc committee. Commissioner Bruns reported that the City of Long Beach will no longer be using stamped concrete in the pedestrian path of travel. However, the City will not be removing any stamped concrete that is currently in place unless that area is part of a bigger "complete street' project and is non-compliant with current accessibility standards. A motion was made by Commissioner Karadjov, seconded by Commissioner Bruns, to approve recommendation.
