Enactment No: RES-21-0037 5. 21-0331 Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute an agreement with the Long Beach Unified School District, for food preparation for the 2021 Summer Food Service Program, in an amount not to exceed $407,000; execute sponsor/site agreements with the City of Signal Hill and nonprofit organizations; and, execute any documents, including amendments, necessary to accept funds, implement, and administer the 2021 Summer Food Service Program from June 21, 2021 through August 27, 2021; and Increase appropriations in the General Grants Fund Group in the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department by $63,107, offset by grant revenue. (Citywide) A motion was made to approve recommendation on the Consent Calendar. 6. 21-0332 Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute an agreement and all necessary documents with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority of Los Angeles (Metro), to accept the donation of the retired P865 Nippon Sharyo light rail vehicle car #100 of the former Long Beach Blue Line; and, authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute an agreement and all necessary documents with Heavy Transport, of Long Beach, CA, to transport and deliver the vehicle from its current location to Long Beach, in an amount not to exceed $40,000. A motion was made by Councilman Supernaw, seconded by Vice Mayor Richardson, to approve recommendation, as amended, to request the City Attorney’s office to prepare a resolution moving Long Beach municipal election dates to align with those of the State of California for 2022, and further request the City Attorney to prepare a ballot measure to be placed on the appropriate ballot in 2022 permanently moving Long Beach municipal election dates to align with the State’s, which will be referred to the Charter Amendment Committee at a future date; and request a memo from the City Attorney's office that covers the current campaigning financing structure, and what options we might have in terms of campaign contribution limits and limitations on outside monies.
