APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR MARCH 7, 2018 18-004HS Committee Member Wilson moved to approve the minutes as amended, seconded by Committee Member Lie. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Natalie Swit, community member with Temple of Israel Long Beach and the National Council of Jewish Women introduced herself. 4. NEW BUSINESS HSAC Annual Report Committee Member Jeffrey Johnson provided an update on the progress regarding the Homeless Services Advisory Committee Report. Feedback was provided to update the report for finalization. Discussion ensued among the committee members. Mayor’s Fund Request Process Jeffrey Johnson, Chair, introduced the item. HOMELESS SERVICES OFFICER’S REPORT Shannon Parker, Homeless Services Officer, and Elsa Ramos, Special Projects Coordinator provided an overview on the following items: · Congratulations Susana Sngiem, “Go Long Beach” award · Form 700-to be completed by April 1, 2018 · Winter Shelter Closure · Program: o Capital RFP submittal for year round shelter, pending award · Strategic Plan-in final editing phase o Mayor wants to address this body regarding a Homeless Task Force · CSULB Symposium on Addressing Homelessness through Systems Thinking · CoC Board Meeting o Mobility Amendment Page 2 of 4 CITY OF LONG BEACH WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4, 2018 HOMELESS SERVICES LONG BEACH MULTI-SERVICE CENTER ADVISORY COMMITTEE 1301 W. 12TH STREET, CONFERENCE ROOM, MINUTES 3:30 PM o New Formerly Homeless Representative on the Board · Janice Hahn-HIP Event in partnership with the Long Beach Housing Authority · Tour with Senator Diane Feinstein’s Field Deputy · Homeless Coalition Mixer: 4/4/2018 at Bo-Beau Kitchen and Roof Tap at 5:30pm · Public Health Week Conference, Thursday, April 5 Airport Marriott · Skid Row Marathon Movie Screening: Saturday, April 7 am at 11am at The Art Theater · Faith Based Summit-Follow Up Meetings · Mental Health First Aid Training- April 18/19 at the MSC · Shannon Parker will be presenting at the National Conference on Veteran Homelessness on May 31st in Washington DC on the local Veteran CES process. Discussion ensued among the committee members regarding the items above. Committee Member Lie retires from the meeting at 5:00 pm Committee Member Lie returns to the meeting at 5:02 pm Committee Member Johnson retires from the meeting at 5:14 pm Committee Member Johnson returns to the meeting at 5:16 pm Committee Member Howat retires from the meeting at 5:18 pm 6. DISTRICT REPORTS FROM HOMELESS SERVICES ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS Committee Vice Chair Allison Kripp met with her council office and reported that CD1 staff would like to attend future meeting. Committee Member Sheila Finch attended a community event with CD3 where she spoke about her role in HSAC. 7.
