and Recreation Commission on non-agenda items. Each speaker is limited to three
minutes unless extended by the Parks and Recreation Commission.
Susan Miller - Belmont Shore resident spoke regarding the Belmont Pool construction site.
Lucy Johnson - Aquatics Capital of America spoke regarding the Belmont Pool construction
site.
Mary Parsell - El Dorado Audubon spoke regarding the nesting birds in the trees around the
Belmont Pool construction site.
STAFF COMMENTS
Gladys Kaiser spoke regarding Parks programming.
Stephen Scott spoke regarding the Community Meeting being held on February 23, 2015
relative to artificial turf fields.
Valerie Davis corrected the date of the next Parks & Recreation Commission meeting to
March 19, 2015.
George Chapjian spoke regarding the Jackson Street Dog Park grand opening on
Saturday, February 21, 2015 and the potential for an additional day for the Bixby Park
Farmers Market. He also stated we are awaiting confirmation on the selection of the new
Parks Development Officer position.
COMMISSIONER COMMENTS
Commissioner Zanatta spoke regarding the Sister Cities event for Chinese New Year to be
held on February 28, 2015.
Commissioner Galindo thanked the Parks & Recreation staff for their hard work and for the
addition of contract classes for community benefit.
