CALL TO ORDER
The Parks & Recreation Commission Special Meeting was called to order by President Ron
Antonette, at 6:35 pm, at El Dorado West Social Hall. Director Chapjian took roll call and
confirmed a quorum.

A motion was made by Commissioner Heggeness and seconded by Vice President
Goldberg to excuse Commissioner Zanatta's absence from the meeting.

seconded by Commissioner Sievers, to Recommend to the City
Manager the use GeoFil/GeoTurf or coconut fiber mix/all natural
fiber materials as the standard infill material for all synthetic field
projects in City of Long Beach Parks. The motion carried by the
following vote:
Yes: 3 - Stacey Morrison, Ron Sievers and Benjamin Alan Goldberg
No: 2 - Julie Heggeness and Ron Antonette
Absent: 1 - David Zanatta
A motion was made by Vice President Goldberg and seconded by
Commissioner Sievers to approve the substitute motion as the
main motion.
Yes: 3 - Stacey Morrison, Ron Sievers and Benjamin Alan Goldberg
No: 2 - Julie Heggeness and Ron Antonette

A substitute motion was made by Vice President Goldberg and
seconded by Commissioner Heggeness to approve the
installation of 4 foot fence and lighting at El Dorado Park Soccer
Field #1 with field overlay design for youth soccer versus adult
soccer activities with priority to Parks, Recreation & Marine
programs, Long Beach Unified School District programs and 18
and under programs, with activities ending promptly at 9pm.

Alan Goldberg and Ron Antonette
Absent: 1 - David Zanatta
NEXT MEETING
The next Parks and Recreation Commission meeting will be held on Thursday, June 18,

located at 2800 N. Studebaker Road, Long Beach, CA 90815.
