CALL TO ORDER
The Parks and Recreation Commission meeting was called to order by President Ron
Antonette, at 9:05 am, at El Dorado West Sr. Center, Library. Acting Director Scott took roll
call and confirmed a quorum.
President Antonette welcomed newly appointed Commissioner Stella Ursua.
Commissioner Ursua stated she looks forward to serving.

An overview of the Civic Center project with a focus on the development of Lincoln Park
was provided by Jeff Fullerton from Plenary Edgemore Civic Partners with assistance from

and Kelly Sutherlin McLeod of KSM Architects.

Meeting minutes of July 16, 2015.
A motion was made by Vice President Goldberg, seconded by

Gladys Kaiser spoke and provided an update on 100 Days of Summer and end of summer
programming.
Valerie Davis asked the Commission if it was acceptable to them to cease mailing agenda
packets each month - email the Commission link to the agenda, and have hard copy
packets available at each Commission meeting for the Commissioners. The
Commissioners agreed to this shift in practice.
Meredith Reynolds advised there will be a 2nd Community workshop for the Houghton Park
Master Plan on Saturday, August 29, 2015.

Hurley Owens stated he's looking forward to the upcoming rainy season.

Water will be made to Council on September 1, 2015.

Commissioner Ursua thanked the Commissioners and Staff for the warm welcome to the
Parks & Recreation Commission.
Commissioner Morrisson is concerned about the sycamore trees in the medians asked if
medians can be watered.

Commissioner Sievers thanked staff for additional port-a-jons at Recreation Park.
Commissioner Goldberg stated we all should be aware of the upcoming rainy season and
