Kelly introduced her grounds team and recognized the excellent work they do. Kelly then introduced Clemente Cerrillos as the November Employee of the Month. Clemente combines creativity, experience, organization and energy to do his job. He is well respected among his co-workers as a leader and mentor. Congratulations, Clemente! Kelly Parkins spoke. Hurley Owens spoke. Director Knight spoke. APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. 17-080PR Recommendation to approve the Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting minutes of December 21, 2017. A motion was made by Vice Chair Heggeness, seconded by Commissioner Morales, to approve the recommendation. A motion was made by Commissioner Ursua, seconded by Vice Chair Heggeness, to approve the recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 5 - Ron Antonette, Margo Morales, Stella Ursua, Julie Heggeness and Benjamin Alan Goldberg Excused: 2 - Ron Sievers and David Zanatta 3. 17-082PR Recommendation to approve the fee waiver requests outlined in Attachment "A", in accordance with the Fee Waiver policy. A motion was made by Vice Chair Heggeness, seconded by Commissioner Ursua, to approve the recommendation. STUDEBAKER ROAD, 9:00 AM 4. 17-083PR Authorize the Director, or his or her management designee, to execute a new Personal Sevice Agreement for Homeland Cultural Center and amend Attachment "A" of the agreement as needed. (District 6) A motion was made by Commissioner Antonette, seconded by Commissioner Morales, to approve the recommendation. The motion carried by the following vote: Yes: 4 - Ron Antonette, Margo Morales, Stella Ursua and Benjamin Alan Goldberg Excused: 3 - Ron Sievers, David Zanatta and Julie Heggeness 5. 17-081PR Authorize the Director of Parks, Recreation and Marine to execute any documents necessary with the Public Corporation for the Arts Long Beach, dba Arts Council for Long Beach, a California non-profit corporation, for the coordination and administration of pre-approved community activities in the East Village Arts Park, And Authorize the Director of Parks, Recreation and Marine to execute any documents necessary with the Downtown Long Beach Alliance, a California non-profit corporation, for the opening, cleaning and closing of the East Village Arts Park. (District 2) A motion was made by Commissioner Morales, seconded by Commissioner Ursua, to approve the recommendation. A motion was made by Commissioner Antonette, seconded by Commissioner Morales, to approve recommendation.
