THE CITY OF MADEIRA BEACH, FLORIDA PUBLIC NOTICE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS AGENDA SETTING MEETING The Board of Commissioners of the City of Madeira Beach, Florida will meet at City Hall, located at 300 Municipal Drive, Madeira Beach, Florida to discuss the agenda items of City Business listed at the time indicated below. 5:45 PM TUESDAY, AUGUST 11, 2015 COMMISSION CHAMBERS AGENDA SETTING FOR AUGUST 25TH WORKSHOP A. CALL TO ORDER - The meeting was called to order at 5:45 p.m. B. ROLL CALL MEMBERS PRESENT: Travis Palladeno, Mayor Elaine Poe, Vice-Mayor Terry Lister, Commissioner District 1 Nancy Hodges, Commissioner District 2 Patricia Shontz, Commissioner District 4 STAFF PRESENT: Shane B. Crawford, City Manager (CM) Thomas Trask, City Attorney (CA) Aimee Servedio, City Clerk (CC) Vincent M. Tenaglia, Assistant City Manager/Finance Director (ACM/FD) Dave Marsicano, Public Works/Marina Director (PW/MD) C. TOPICS 1. DISCUSSION ON PROPOSED BUDGET AND FINANCE POLICIES Vince Tenaglia, Assistant City Manager/Finance Director and Financial Advisor, PFM 2. DISCUSSION ON SOLAR PANELS AT MADEIRA BEACH CITY CENTRE Nancy Hodges, Commissioner District 2 3. PRESENTATION AND UPDATE ON SHORT TERM RENTALS Pat Krager, Code Enforcement Deputy and Chris Kohmann, Code Enforcement Deputy CM: The following agenda has items that are due for discussion and items requested by the Commission. The first item is a continuation ofthe Assistant City Manager/Finance Director's work with Public Financial Management and the direction from the Board in regards to the Finance and Budget Policies that have been presented. A representative from PFM will also be in attendance to present the final draft of these policies. Item 2was requested for discussion by Commissioner Hodges and Item 3 is a response to a citizen inquiry that the City Clerk received . The last item was first proposed by Vice-Mayor Poe and the deputies when Deputy Kohmann began work on focusing on short term rentals. This will be an update on how the processes have been solidified and what the current state of the City is in regards to this issue, since the department has been expanded. 08/11/2015 BOC Agenda Setting Meeting Page 1 12 The City Manager also requests a discussion on the back-in parking ordinance also be added to this agenda as well. A motion to approve the Agenda for the August 25th Workshop, with the addition of the back-in parking ordinance discussion was made by Commissioner Lister and seconded by Commissioner Hodges. ADJOURNMENT Any person who decides to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at this meeting wi ll need a record of the proceedings and for such purposes may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. The law does not require the City Clerk to transcribe verbatim minutes; therefore, the applicant must make the necessary arrangements with a private reporter or private reporting firm and bear the resulting expense.
