City of Madelia City Council Meeting Monday, November 28, 2016 A regular meeting of the Madelia City Council was held on November 28, 2016 at 7:00 pm. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Grote. Those present for the meeting were; Andy Gappa; Dave Whitney and Larry Schickling. Absent from the meeting was John Nelson. A Motion was made by Dave Whitney and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve the agenda. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa and Dave Whitney and Larry Schickling. Voting against none, motion carried with John Nelson absent. A Motion was made by Larry Schickling and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve the minutes of the November 14, 2016 meetings. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney and Larry Schickling. Voting against none, motion carried with John Nelson absent. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Dave Whitney to approve the bills as listed. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa and Larry Schickling and Dave Whitney. Voting against none, motion carried with John Nelson absent. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Dave Whitney to approve Eide Bailly services for the 2016 City Audit in the amount of $19,900.00. This is a $700.00 cost increase due to the reviewing and monitoring of new and existing regulations. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Andy Gappa, Dave Whitney and Larry Schickling. Voting against none, motion carried with John Nelson absent. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Larry Schickling to approve certifying seven (1) general fine to the property owner’ 2017 property taxes. 17-279-0870 Isidro Cedillo 319 Third Street NE Project No. 17-016 $330.00 Street Patching Maintenance Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Dave Whitney, Larry Schickling and Andy Gappa. Voting against none, motion carried, with John Nelson absent. A motion was made by Dave Whitney and seconded by Larry Schicking to approve removing Samantha Crowley from probation. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Dave Whitney, Larry Schickling and Andy Gappa. Voting against none, motion carried, with John Nelson Absent. A motion was made by Larry Schickling and Seconded by Andy Gappa to approve the Assistant City Administrator’s 2017 Employment Contract with a 3% wage increase. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Dave Whitney, Larry Schickling and Andy Gappa. Voting against none, motion carried, with John Nelson absent. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Larry Schickling to approve the City Administrator’s 2017 Employment contract with a 3% wage increase. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Dave Whitney, Larry Schickling and Andy Gappa. Voting against none, motion carried, with John Nelson absent. With no further business before the City Council, a Motion was made by Larry Schickling and seconded by Andy Gappa to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor of said motion, Mike Grote, Dave Whitney, Larry Schickling and Andy Gappa. Voting against none, motion carried, with John Nelson absent. Meeting was adjourned.
