City Council Meeting Monday, April 27, 2020 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Grote via phone conference. Those in attendance were; Mike Grote, Cody Eager, Andy Gappa, Larry Schickling and David Whitney. Roll call being taken: Mike Grote David Whitney Larry Schickling Cody Eager Andy Gappa Chris Fischer Chris Paul Chief Prescher Heather Thomas – Times Messager A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Cody Eager to approve the Consent Items. Voting in favor of said motion by roll call; Mike Grote-Yes, Larry Schickling-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes and Dave Whitney-Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Larry Schickling and seconded by Cody Eager to approve hiring Hayden Feist for the open fire fighter position. Voting in favor of said motion by roll call; Mike Grote-Yes, Larry Schickling-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes and Dave Whitney-Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Cody Eager and seconded by Andy Schickling to approve the bid from Pearson Brothers Inc. for $87,374.70 for 2020 seal coating. Allied Blacktop Company was the second bid at $107,344.15. Voting in favor of said motion by roll call; Mike Grote-Yes, Larry Schickling-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes and Dave Whitney-Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Larry Schickling and seconded by Cody Eager to table Mark Hoeft’s request to plant a pollinator garden at 326 Buck Ave NE. Council should contact Mark to discuss details. Voting in favor of said motion by roll call; Mike Grote-Yes, Larry Schickling-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes and Dave Whitney-Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Cody Eager and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve advertising for the following RFP’s: - Replace culvert on golf and park road - Demo old batting cage in the park  - Golf Garden Shed relocation - Volleyball court fill Voting in favor of said motion by roll call; Mike Grote-Yes, Larry Schickling-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes and Dave Whitney-Yes. Motion was approved. With no further business before the Council, A Motion was made by Cody Eager and seconded by Andy Gappa to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor of said motion by roll call; Mike Grote-Yes, Larry Schickling-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes and Dave Whitney-Yes. Motion was approved.
