City Council Meeting Tuesday, May 26, 2020 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Grote via phone conference. Those in attendance were; Mike Grote, Cody Eager, Andy Gappa, Larry Schickling and Dave Whitney. Roll call being taken: Mike Grote David Whitney Cody Eager Andy Gappa Larry Schickling Chris Fischer Chris Paul Chief Prescher Heather Thomas – Times Messager A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Cody Eager to approve the Consent Items with an additional item to the agenda. Additional item is discussing businesses that would like to expand their business out to make a patio due to Governor Walz reopening rules. Voting in favor of said motion by roll call; Mike Grote-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes and Dave Whitney-Yes, Larry Schickling-Yes. Motion was approved. Sara Oberloh from Oberloh & Oberloh, Ltd. was present at the workshop meeting to present the 2019 Audit to the City Council. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and second by Cody Eager to approve the 2019 Audit for the City of Madelia. Voting in favor of said motion by roll call; Mike Grote-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes and Dave Whitney-Yes, Larry Schickling-Yes. Motion was approved. The Council discussed businesses that would like to expand their business out to make a patio due to Governor Walz reopening rules. The Council is in favor of trying to help the businesses in a safe manor. Chris Fischer, City Administrator will meet with business owners to discuss “creative” ideas. With no further business before the Council, A Motion was made by Cody Eager and seconded by Dave Whitney to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor of said motion by roll call; Mike Grote-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Larry Schickling-Yes and Dave Whitney-Yes. Motion was approved.
