City Council Meeting
Monday, July 11, 2022
7:00p.m. Fire Hall Basement
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Grote. Those in attendance were Mike
Grote, Cody Eager, Andrew Gappa, Dave Whitney and Glen Christensen.
Others presented were Chris Fischer, Patrick Casey, Chief Prescher, Heather Utz, Jim
Pettersen, Jan Christenson, Mark Christenson, Jay Christenson, Julie Kelly and Kathy
Guyer.
A Motion was made by Cody Eager and seconded by Dave Whitney to approve the
Consent Items with additional items to the agenda:
2. Scheduling regular Council Meeting set for December 26, 2022 to
December 27, 2022 because of staff holiday.
3. Watonwan Assessor Joint Powers Agreement 5% increase for 2023.
4. Chief Prescher new squad car quotes.
Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes,
Dave Whitney-Yes and Glen Christensen-Yes. Motion was approved.

A Motion was made by Glen Christensen and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve
Resolution 2022-12 a Resolution relating to the termination of Tax Increment District
No. 8 and directing decertification thereof by the County Auditor. Voting in favor of said
motion; Mike Grote-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Dave Whitney-Yes and
Glen Christensen-Yes. Motion was approved.
A Motion was made by Dave Whitney and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve the
reschedule of the regular council meeting from December 26 to December 27, 2022 due
to staff holiday. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen
Christensen- Yes, Dave Whitney-Yes and Cody Eager-Yes. Motion was approved.
A Motion was made by Cody Eager and seconded by Glen Christensen to approve
accepting the 5% increase for 2023 for the Watonwan County Assessor Joint Powers
Agreement. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen
Christensen- Yes, Dave Whitney-Yes and Cody Eager-Yes. Motion was approved.
A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Dave Whitney to approve Chief
Prescher to acquire quotes for a new squad car. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike
Grote-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen- Yes, Dave Whitney-Yes and Cody
Eager-Yes. Motion was approved.
With no further business before the Council, A Motion was made by Glen Christensen
and seconded by Cody Eager to adjourn the meeting. Voting in favor of said motion;
Mike Grote-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Dave Whitney-Yes and Glen
Christensen-Yes. Motion was approved.
