City Council Meeting Monday, August 8, 2022 7:00p.m. Fire Hall Basement The meeting was called to order by Mayor Mike Grote. Those in attendance were Mike Grote, Cody Eager, Andrew Gappa, Dave Whitney and Glen Christensen. Others presented were Chris Fischer, Patrick Casey, Chief Prescher, Heather Utz, Jordan Henry and Jim Pettersen. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote-Yes, Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Dave Whitney-Yes and Glen Christensen-Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Glen Christensen and seconded by Andy Gappa to approve Resolution 2022-14 a Resolution to accept a donation to the City of Madelia. This donation is being made from Elite Electrical Innovations, LLC in the amount of $3,197.78 in real property. The property is 9 golf ball washers and 2 other ball washers that will be installed on the Madelia Golf Course. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen- Yes, Dave Whitney-Yes and Cody Eager-Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Glen Christensen and seconded by Cody Eager to approve and accept the conditions set forth for the USDA Grant of $14,000.00 for the Emergency Sirens. Two new sirens will be purchased and installed at the new Government Center and one in the Park. This grant is a 35/65 grant. The City has budgeted $40,000.00 for this project. The signing of the letter of intent was done at meeting. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen- Yes, Dave Whitney- Yes and Cody Eager-Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Cody Eager and seconded by Glen Christensen to approve Pay Request No. 11 to Maguire Iron in the amount of $33,250.00 for the water tower project. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen- Yes, Dave Whitney-Yes and Cody Eager-Yes. Motion was approved. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Cody Eager to approve Pay Request No. 10 to PHLAG Holdings in the amount of $199,430.00 for the Government Center. Voting in favor of said motion; Mike Grote-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Glen Christensen- Yes, Dave Whitney-Yes and Cody Eager-Yes. Motion was approved. With no further business before the Council, A Motion was made by Cody Eager and seconded by Dave Whitney to adjourn the meeting.
