City Council Meeting Monday, September 11, 2023 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cody Eager. Those in attendance were Cody Eager, Andy Gappa, Mark Slater and Phyllis Schickling. Glen Christensen was absent. Others present were Chris Fischer, Rob Prescher, Heather Utz, Jan Christenson, Mark Christenson, Jay Christenson, Kathy Guyer, Michelle VanHee and Jim Pettersen. The donation is a tree and plaque that will be planted in Watona Park. The value is $500.00 in real property. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Mark Slater to approve Pay Request #15 to PHLAG in the amount of $23,756.00. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Phyllis Schickling-Yes and Mark Slater - Yes. Motion was approved. Glen Christensen was absent. A Motion was made by Mark Slater and seconded by Phyllis Schickling to approve Main Street Road Closure for October 27th, 2023 from 4:00p.m.-6:30p.m. for Spooktacular. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager-Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Phyllis Schickling- Yes and Mark Slater - Yes. Motion was approved. Glen Christensen was absent. A Motion was made by Phyllis Schickling and seconded by Mark Slater to approve Task 1 in the Bolton and Menk Proposal for Watona Park and NE Sports Area. Task 1 at $17,200 can be funded this year but Task 2 will need to be budgeted for next year. A Motion was made by Andy Gappa and seconded by Mark Slater to approve Tony Morales request for road closure of Adams Ave NE from 2nd Street NE to 3rd Street NE on September 23, 2023, from 6:00p.m. – 10:00p.m. Voting in favor of said motion; Cody Eager – Yes, Andy Gappa-Yes, Mark Slater-Yes and Phyllis Schickling-Yes. Motion was approved. Glen Christensen was absent. With no further business before the Council, A Motion was made by Phyllis Schickling and seconded by Andy Gappa to adjourn the meeting.
