ANNOUNCEMENT OF NOTICE Statement of Compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act: Betsy Uhlman, Chairperson, opened the meeting as follows: “Let the minutes reflect that adequate notice of this meeting has been provided in the following manner: At the meeting of the Council, held on January 1, 2015, the posted annual calendar of meetings of the Madison Environmental Commission was approved with minor modifications which were submitted to the Borough and posted at the bulletin board at the main entrance of the Hartley Dodge Memorial Building; were sent to the Madison Eagle and the Daily Record; and filed with the Borough Clerk; all in accordance with the ‘Open Public Meetings Act.’” 3. ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION: !@ Pilgrim Pipeline and Madison 26 of 30 NJ towns that would be potentially affected have adopted municipal resolutions similar to Madison’s that object to pipeline activities in !" " their jurisdictions. The State Assembly voted overwhelmingly for a resolution AR191 to oppose the planned pipeline and the Senate introduced a similar resolution. The Chatham Board of Education also passed a resolution to oppose the pipeline. Coordinated activities among communities are taking place." 2. T-7'9*."J:(;:-+'*."=:.+:;"$17-+:: The deer has left the fenced exclosure. Grants are being applied for with Rotary, Open Space, Sustainable Jersey and ANJEC to support the wetlands restoration. STMB will seek to get 500 trees from a state program. Outreach was discussed and the need to let the Boy Scouts Troop 25 know of opportunities. V@ Plastic Bag Proposal Marilyn Musieski submitted a plastic bag ban outreach proposal. The rosenet and recycling bulletin now mention the program. The MEC would like to add this outreach to the Green Fair’s and submit a municipal resolution, modeled on Sustainable Jersey’s. The Green Fair program must be organized soon." MEETING ADJOURNED.
