MANISTEE AREA P. G. E CUMMISSlUN MEETING MINUTES August 23,2000 A regularly scheduled meeting of the Manistee Area P. G. E Commission was held on August 23, 2000 at 6: 00 p. m, in the Council Chambers City at City Hall, 70 maple Street, Manistee, Michigan. MEMBERS PRESENT: G. Carlson, J. Mencarelli, M. Carlson, M.Tillotson, F. Balcer, J. Ball MEMBERS ABSENT: E. Bush, Ex- Officio. OTHERS PRESENT: Lorraine Carlson, Tex Collins The meeting was brought to order at approxixnately 6:00 p.m. by Carlson. There was a motion made by Balcer, seconded by M. Carlson to approve July 19, 2000 meeting minutes. Ayes-4 Nays-0 2000-2001 budget - Tillotson read a letter from himself to Glen Carlson regarding planned budget expenditures. A discussion of budget priorities followed. There was a motion by Balcer, seconded by Menearelli to move ahead with the purchase oftwo S- VHS VCR's, one color monitor,one " magic box" character generator, and a quantity of sta.tionary not to exceed hundred dollazs. one Ayes-6 Nays-0 Tillotson recommended hiring a professional to clean and service the equipment at the broadcast site. The consensus was to deal with this in of 2001. February Channel report - A channel report was not available at this time. A new printer is in the works and when it is on line it will be used to print a monthly of aired. report programs Menearelli is investigating the possibility of broadcasting political debates live from the school. Menearelli reported that a web page on the school's intemet site is still under investigation. Tex Collins commented on a variety of issues. The date of the next meeting was set as September 27, 2000. The meeting was adjourned at 7: 30 P. M.
