E COMMISSION MANISTEE AREA P. G. MEETING MINUTES January 23,2002 A regularly scheduled meeting of the Manistee Area P,E.G.Commission was held on January 23,2002 at 6: m. in the first floor Conference Room at 10 p. City Ha11, 70 Maple Street, Manistee, Michigan. MEMBERS PRESENT: J. Menca:elli,J. Ba11, M. Carlson, K.Lewis,Lee Sprague MEMBERS ABSENT• M.Tillotson OTHERS PRESENT: T. Collins, Howard Voss There was a motion by Lewis, seconded by Carlson to accept the minutes of the previous meeting. Motion passed 7- 0 Carlson reported that the computer hard d:ive failed recently. The hard drive has been replaced but all information on it has been lost. The scroll has been changed to make it more interesting and readable. Ba11 reported that he has had some failures of channel 2. Carlson suggested that this may occur due to incompatibilities between some of the programming and the broadcast equipment. Carlson reported on a problem with sound at the broadcast site. Tapes with high broadcast volumes cause Charter to adjust the sound There was a motion by Sprague seconded by Lewis to forward the proposed P. G. E policy to the city and township for adoption. Motion passed 4-0 There was a motion by Sprague, seconded by Ball to sign the contract for P. G. E operations with Mark Carlson. Motion passed, 3- 0,with one abstention. Ba11, Lewis and Mencarelli will serve on a committee ot prepare a one year contract for P. C. E operations Election of officers Lee Sprague was nominated for the position of president. There being no other nominations, he was elected by a vote of 4- 0. John Mencarelli was nominated for the position of vice- president. There being no other nominations, he was elected by a vote of 4- 0. Kareen Lewis was nominated for the position of secretary-treasurer. There being no other nominations, she was elected by a vote of 4- 0. Carlson suggested that any tapes in question by Mr. Collins could be resubmitted and they would be broadcast. Sprague suggested that this would be true for any tapes. A discussion of concerns relating to Filer Township was held. Mencarelli attended the last Filer Township board meeting and addressed some of Filer's concerns there. Tex Collins spoke on a number of issues. The date of the next meeting was set as February 27, 2002. The commission went into executive session at 7: 30 p. m. Executive session was adjourned at 7: 45 p. m. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7: 45 PM.
