MANISTEE AREA PEG CONIlVIISSION MAN1s~" MEETING MINUTES May 14,2007 A regularly scheduled meeting of the Manistee Area PEG Commission was held on May 14,2007 at 6: 37 m. in the conference room of the Manistee High School, 525 Twelfth Street, Manistee, Michigan. p. MEMBERS PRESENT: L.Trucks, G.Zazing,D.Kruse,M. Sandstedt MEMBERS ABSENT: K.Ervin, D.Freeburg, D.Wrzesinski OTHERS PRESENT: K.Brown There was a motion by Kruse, seconded by Zaring, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion passed 4- 0 There was a motion by Kruse,seconded by Zaring,to approve the minutes ofthe March 12,2006 meeting. Motion passed 4-0 Mr. Brown reported on the ongoing activities at PEG Channels 2 and 98. Keith reported that he had been dea.ling with monitor issues related to recent power failures at the high school. Problems were solved/repaired. Keith also mentioned that Councilman Yonkman inquired about the city council work sessions being broadcast on the streaming video site_Keith will follow up on this. The 2007/2008 PEG budget was discussed. Compensation for Executive Director was also discussed. Brown has been at the same rate of pay ($ 10,400)since he started with PEG in 2003. The 2007/2008 budget allows for Brown's compensation to be raised to $ 19,500 annually,based on 20 hours per week. It was moved by Sandstedt, seconded by Zaring to approve the 2007/2008 budget as submitted. A roll ca11 vote followed. Motion passed 4- 0 Under new business, Glen Zaring mentioned that the Tribe is working on a video about the tribal fishing operations based out of Manistee. He mentioned there may be other opportunities for the Tribe to provide additional programming in the future. No other new business was discussed. There were no public comments The neXt meeting date was set for Monday,July 9,2007 at 6: m. in the conference room at Manistee 30 p. High School.
