Members Present: Lynne Reinhardt, Priscilla Rulison, Ed Tegler, Darcy Scott, Mark Tomaszewski, Wendy Staffeld A special meeting of the Manistee Parks and Beautification Commission was held on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at 5: 16 p. 2nd Floor Conference Room. Meeting was called to order by Chair Lynne Reinhardt at City Hall- m. Minutes from previous October meeting were read and approved. this Old Business: A)Manistee County Historical Museum representative Steve Harold requested that commission give perspective on moving the one-half scale model of schooner to Manistee Marina. A phone survey was taken and consensus was that Mr.Harold should find another area for placement of the model. of this B)First Street Beach Plan was supposed to be presented in a smaller scale to members commission and this did not happen. Ed Tegler C)Commission to select the project of Fifth Avenue site proposal for year 2010-2011. will be chair of this project. Lynne talked with Kathie Boyle about filling out a form application for this project and said that the city should consider this application at its December regular submitting it to the City Council. Kathie meeting. New Business: Ed Tegler would like to present the idea of getting picnic tables and grills ready for use by the fourth of July at the southern most picnic area (formerly Fifth Ave. Shelter House), to the city manager and council. He will ask council to vote whether to amend currently adopted Fifth Avenue beach plan to allow the design to incorporate tennis courts into plan.No new information was presented at this time.
