Call to Order Chairman Sitkiewitz called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM 2. Roll Call Present: 4- Able, Brey, Sitkiewitz and Shaw Absent: 1- McMeans 3. Approval of Minutes The minutes of the April 7th Finance Committee meeting were inadvertently left out of the packet of agenda information. The Committee will take up approval of the April 7th minutes at their next meeting. 4. Public Comment There was no public comment provided at the meeting. 5. Presentations 14-132 Mayor Justin Nickels - Update on the Fundraising Activities for the Preservation and Restoration of Historic Beer Murals The Mayor addressed the Committee in regard to the Historic Beer Murals. He reported that there were no additional funds raised for the preservation and/or restoration. The Commitee then discussed the potential sale of the property and the uncertainty of the mural's future. 6. Discussion and Action Items 14-254 Communication regarding Manitowoc Marina, Letter from Jim Muenzenmeyer d. February 5, 2014 and email dated April 28, 2014 Discussion items presented by Jim Muenzenmeyer: 1) Set up of Non-lapsing fund 2) Winter ice damage Rich Larson explained and demonstrated the marina issues to Committee through a PowerPoint presentation. No action was taken at this time by the Committee. 14-285 Requests to Carryover 2013 Budgeted Funds to 2014 Budget A motion was made by Alderperson Jim Brey, seconded by Alderperson Christopher Able, that this Action Item was approved.. The motion carried by the City of Manitowoc Page 1 Finance Committee Meeting Minutes May 5, 2014 following vote: Aye: 4- Able, Brey, Sitkiewitz and Shaw 14-995 Exercising Provision to Extend Cellular Phone Service Agreement with Cellcom Moved by Shaw, seconded by Able, that the Finance Department proceed with the negotiation of a two year renewal agreement with Cellcom under the terms presented and forward the document for Council approval. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Able, Brey, Sitkiewitz and Shaw 14-559 MPU Fiber Optic Lease Agreement Finance Director/Treasurer Steve Corbeille provided the Committee with some historic information and an explanation of the proposal going forward. A short discussion followed. Moved by Able, seconded by Brey, that this Agreement be recommended to the Council for approval. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Able, Brey, Sitkiewitz and Shaw 7. Adjournment Moved by Shaw, seconded by Able, to adjourn the Finance Committee meeting.
