16-0402 Special presentation to retiring committee member Paul Blashka

Special award was given to retiring committee member Paul Blashka.
Committee thanked him for his 21 years of service to the Police and Fire
committee, serving from August 1994 to April 2016.

Moved by Schilder, seconded by Wellner, that this Minutes be accepted and
placed on file. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 4- Bare, Schilder, Wellner and Sauer
5. Public Comment
Alderman Chris Able thanked the Police and Fire Commission in moving
foward of videotaping and listing their minutes/agendas on the city website.
Citizens will appreciate the information and he also thanked them for their
service to this committee.

Police and Fire Commisstion would like to be given more background
information on each subject. This change will occur for the next eligibility list.
The committee approved the current list for 60 days subject to change once the
complete background paperwork is provided to committee members. Moved by
Wellner, seconded by Schilder, that this Request be approved. The motion
carried by the following vote:

Convene into closed Session:
Moved by Schilder, seconded by Wellner, that the committee convene into
closed session at 4:47 PM. The motion carried by the following vote:

Notice is hereby given that the above governmental body may adjourn into a closed
session under 19.85(1)(f), Considering financial, medical, social or personal histories
or disciplinary data of specific persons, preliminary consideration of specific
personnel problems or the investigation of charges against specific persons except
where par. (b) applies which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a
substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person referred to in such
histories or data, or involved in such problems or investigations.
The specific subject matter that may be considered in closed session is:
16-0417 Update from Fire Chief Todd Blaser regarding an employee separation.

Pursuant to Section 19.84(2) and (3) of the Wisconsin Statutes, notice is hereby
given to the public, to the Herald-Times-Reporter, the official newspaper of
Manitowoc, and to those news media who have filed a written request for this
notice that a meeting of the above-referenced will be held at the date, time and
location listed above.
Notice is hereby given that a majority of the Common Council of the City of
Manitowoc may be present at this meeting to gather information about the
subject matter over which they have decision making responsibility.
The above governmental body will meet to discuss and possibly take action on
the agenda items set forth below.
