Call to Order 2. Roll Call Present: 4- Bare, Schilder, Wellner and Sauer 3. Presentations 16-0402 Special presentation to retiring committee member Paul Blashka Attachments: P. Blashka presentation PFC Meeting May 10th Special award was given to retiring committee member Paul Blashka. Committee thanked him for his 21 years of service to the Police and Fire committee, serving from August 1994 to April 2016. 4. Approval of Minutes 16-0397 April 12th Minutes Attachments: PFC Minutes April 12th, 2016 Moved by Schilder, seconded by Wellner, that this Minutes be accepted and placed on file. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Bare, Schilder, Wellner and Sauer 5. Public Comment Alderman Chris Able thanked the Police and Fire Commission in moving foward of videotaping and listing their minutes/agendas on the city website. Citizens will appreciate the information and he also thanked them for their service to this committee. 6. Discussion and Action Items City of Manitowoc Page 1 Police and Fire Commission Meeting Minutes May 10, 2016 16-0423 Police April 2016 monthly report Attachments: Police April 2016 Monthly Report This Report was discussed 16-0398 Fire April 2016 monthly report Attachments: Monthly Report MFD-04-2016 This Report was discussed 16-0409 Fire Department 2015 Annual Report Attachments: 2015 Annual Report MFD This Report was discussed 16-0400 Eligibility list from the Fire Department Attachments: 2016-2017 Fire Dept. Eligiblity List Police and Fire Commisstion would like to be given more background information on each subject. This change will occur for the next eligibility list. The committee approved the current list for 60 days subject to change once the complete background paperwork is provided to committee members. Moved by Wellner, seconded by Schilder, that this Request be approved. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Bare, Schilder, Wellner and Sauer Convene into closed Session: Moved by Schilder, seconded by Wellner, that the committee convene into closed session at 4:47 PM. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Bare, Schilder, Wellner and Sauer City of Manitowoc Page 2 Police and Fire Commission Meeting Minutes May 10, 2016 Notice is hereby given that the above governmental body may adjourn into a closed session under 19.85(1)(f), Considering financial, medical, social or personal histories or disciplinary data of specific persons, preliminary consideration of specific personnel problems or the investigation of charges against specific persons except where par. (b) applies which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person referred to in such histories or data, or involved in such problems or investigations. The specific subject matter that may be considered in closed session is: 16-0417 Update from Fire Chief Todd Blaser regarding an employee separation. Attachments: Fire Dept. employee separation This Action Item was discussed Reconvene into open session: Moved by Sauer, seconded by Schilder, that the committee reconvene in open session at 4:54PM. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 4- Bare, Schilder, Wellner and Sauer 7. Adjournment Moved by Schilder, seconded by Wellner, that this be adjourned at 4:54PM. Notice is hereby given that a majority of the Common Council of the City of Manitowoc may be present at this meeting to gather information about the subject matter over which they have decision making responsibility.
